Great post! I can only imagine the silent swearing of coaches and player's dissing refs, etc. that "might" go on. The kids are probably choking with laughter all game long. Loved the cheerleaders too! Go EAGLES !!

I vaguely remember them having some really good teams back in the'60's, when they were located at what is now the Clark Kerr Campus. I think they might have had some undefeated seasons in those days, so it makes me wonder if their current "best season ever" includes their teams when they were located in Berkeley. I'm not at all sure about the undefeated seasons, though.

Anyone know how they handle the issue with the ref's whistle? Suppose they really tackle or hit a RB/QB well after the ref would normally whistle dead ball? Do they get a 'pass' instead of a penalty because they couldn't hear the whistle?

I watched a football practice once for a school for the deaf (in Wisconsin). The coaches had big drums that they would hit. Apparently the kids can feel that. Not sure if they use that for the equivalent of a whistle.
