Heart -- for someone who put Jordan on "ignore" for being the weakest link, you sure can't stop talking to him or about him.

I haven't done it yet because I am interested to see what he says in the meantime and I want to see if he is going to answer my questions, which was the point of the OP. You are right though, I probably should and will eventually.

It is always interesting that the people in an organization who go around spreading rumors and innuendo, complaining about the perceived preferences given to someone else as an excuse for not giving their full effort themselves, then label the other person a "cancer."...

In other words, HeartoftheBear (and some others) end up embodying and reflecting the very same negative traits they accuse of others. In this case, it's being a cancer and a "carrier" (ie. rumors and innuendo spreading like Viruses) of negativity.

...Your own attitude is your own responsibility--blaming others for your attitude reflects a lack of maturity. Of course, these are mostly teenagers we are talking about, so a certain lack of muturity comes with the territory--it is one of the things one hopefully acquires in college (see Gabe King's comments on his college experience).

I do think that Tedford had difficulty explaining his decisions to the press, so the same was probably true of his ability to explain his decision making to the team (and probably didn't think he had to). That does tend to encourage second guessing, and speculation about motives, especially when the results are far less than desired. And playing time is the most contentious thing in organized sports from t-ball and peewee football on up--the one parents especially habitually complain about (if their kid is not starting, then the starter never deserves to be starting).

And as far as the OP, whenever I run into a player, even one who has under-performed (like Joe Ayoob) or struggled in the class room, I thank them for their efforts and encourage them. I tell them to hang in there and to make the most of their opportunity at Cal. Then I give them a "Go Bears!"

Well the stated reason is not the real reason. I didn't want to state the real reason I waited, but after todays events in CT, I think I'd rather end the fight whether I put him on ignore or not.

After today's events I have posted a commitment to stop being vitriolic in my rhetoric. I am guessing such rhetoric is what you refer to as a carrier of negativity. I don't agree that I am a cancer as I truly care and contribute a good deal. So I would only ask you, in light of today's events to join me and stop the personal attacks. I would like to be able to enjoy reading your contributions in the future and to have disagreements without fear of retribution. I did stoop to a low level with regard to jordan because I felt he crossed a line. Maybe you don't agree. But my motivation, ironically, was similar to yours, to protect the board from unwarrented negativity. I guess I ended up becoming part of the problem in the process of trying to back Okaydo's decision to post the parent's thoughts and to point out Moragabear's perspective on the issue despite jordan's hack job on him. When it comes to talking actual football, I often find your comments insightful and am looking forward to reading them. As for jordangoldnbear I have truly put him on ignore now because I don't think I can stay positive while reading his posts. In the meantime all I can say is that if I hurt people such as ZM and/or KA with my words, I am sorry. I will try not to let that happen again and am looking forward to moving forward.

Finally! Things got akward on here fast when I left for a day! Thanks to people like calumnus for saying what I was thinking better than I could. And I only "bash" the team as whole when it comes to effort because its a team game. From the stands I have heard some students say nasty stuff about a player. Not ok. But if you wanna bash the team and NOT a player GO RIGHT AHEAD. And if you wanna do it to a player just say something about their skills like throw better catch it dont drop it. Stuff like that. Dont say silly things like "your only starting cause of your bro" that just makes you look stupid. Calling out a mans honor in person or their face is awful. Those are good rules to follow.
