Basically says that Sonny D hasn't coached a game yet but had a great recruiting weekend. Then there are some quotes from an assistant HC at San Mateo talking about how Sina plays and what an impressive job Sonny D is doing and things will pick up when we have a defensive staff.

Nothing you couldn't read on a MoragaBear report on the front page. Basically just noting our last three commits all coming on their on campus visit on Sonny's first recruiting weekend.

Does it renew at $5? It looks like it renews after Dec 25, 2012 at an undetermined price.

Never mind, figured it out. Goes for a year and then it's an undetermined renewal. Not a bad deal to get insider access for a year. Thanks for the plug

Are there any lifetime membership deals, on this site, or others? Those have served me well over the years, like with our alumni association, Tivo service membership, etc...

heh TiVo lifetime service sounds like a lot of $$, but it pays for itself relatively quickly and is so much better than the cr@ppy Comcast DVR... the dark ages.

Cal recruiting keeps rolling

Sonny Dykes hasn't had to do anything on the field yet for California, but the Golden Bears' new head coach pitched a perfect game this weekend, as Cal earned verbal commitments from all three of its official visitors.

Four-star offensive tackle Erik Bunte (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo) committed on Sunday, while the junior college visitors -- defensive ends Sione Sina (San Pablo, Calif./College of San Mateo) and Kyle Kragen (Pleasant Hills, Calif./Diablo Valley College) -- both joined the class on Monday.

Sina is a four-star prospect who earned offers from BYU, Kansas, Oregon, Oregon State, Texas A&M and UCLA, among others.

"He had a bunch of really good options, but that was his dream school from back in high school," San Mateo assistant head coach Tim Tulloch said. "He has a great opportunity to get a great education and play in the Pac-12. He was excited to be a part of it."

Tulloch said he expects Sina to rush the passer, no matter what kind of defense Cal winds up utilizing under Dykes.

"He's a guy who is physical at the point of attack with the run and can be a rush guy," Tulloch said of the 6-foot-4, 245-pound Sina. "He can cause some havoc as far as turning a corner against offensive tackles or running backs."

Tulloch has been on the Bulldogs staff since 1997 and is very familiar with Northern California. He said he has been impressed with the way Dykes is beginning his head coaching career in the area.

"They are doing a good job and I expect them to continue to do that," Tulloch said. "Once they get that defensive staff solidified, they'll have even more experience. I'm excited to see what those guys do. Coach Dykes did well at Arizona and did well as a head coach at Louisiana Tech."

Sina finished this season with 28 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Kragen was productive this past season as well, as the 6-foot-3, 245-pound end took over for USC signee Morgan Breslin at Diablo Valley as one of the more feared pass rushers in the conference. He registered 65 tackles and 14.5 sacks.

The three recruits give the Golden Bears 20 verbal commitments in the 2013 recruiting class.

Yup, I spent 200 bucks for TiVo lifetime DVR service in 2000, almost 13 years ago. I think the service is like $10 / month, so it paid for itself in less than 2 years. And DTV has grandfathered it to the point to where I don't even have a TiVo anymore, but DTV's solution, and it's still paid for, so long as I stay with DTV. Truth be told, it's one of the reasons I did not leave DTV during the Pac-12 Network fiasco...

staygolden2001, thank you.
