Alafuckinbama should and damn near does get every player they want. Saban is by far the best coach in college. I honestly think he will go down as the greatest ever. Unless he goes to the NFL get extremely used to this.

I'm sure there's some loophole they use for departing players so they don't count against the graduation rate. I believe the SEC only limits signing to 28 per season with no regard for current roster size. They sign 112 in 4 seasons, keep 85 and jettison 27 in some fashion. They get a large, free class every 4 season and leave the undesirables behind.

It's the difference between a pro team with a community college attached to be eligible for NCAA competition and an academic institution that plays sports as part of the educational experience.

Not even close. He is great when he is at a glamour program with #1 recruiting classes. What Chip built at Oregon is more impressive by far. Did Saban build a perennial MNC contender at MSU? Nope.

The loophole is that a player can leave at any time for any reason and be excluded from the grad rates if they are in good standing. That's NCAA wide.

So a school just has to work to make sure players that aren't going to graduate are excluded from the calculation.

The NCAA should really make public the number of players that graduate each year too - I'd imagine it's below 10 for a lot of schools even thought he incoming classes are 25.
