I dont get all this Ray Lewis worship. The dude was found guilty of lying to police regarding a murder committed by one of his friends.

HE also paid the family off as a result of losing a civil suit.

Have people forgotten about this??

That was before he found salvation, he's a servant of god now. I actually find him extremely annoying and looking forward to seeing him cry after losing to SF in a couple weeks.

Even if RL himself actually did kill that guy, I would still have a bigger problem with Tim Tebow, who loves to quote the Book of John every chance he gets, but has clearly never read the Book of Matthew (6:5) where Jesus says:

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray kneeling in the pregame warmups and in the endzone to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full."

Every time the announcers talk about his leadership it makes you realize what a charade pro sports can be. Yes Lewis jumps around and screams on the field and yes he's good at playing this game. But when he had the opportunity to show real leadership and keep his buddies from killing two guys he balked and then tried to cover it up. Nauseating.

Disgusting. It's bad for the NFL to ever mention that episode so, well, they don't. And fans turn a blind eye in many cases. I want him to die of CTE in short order.

What was the deal at the end of the game? RL started to take his pads off with about 3 minutes left and a guy in a suit was clearly telling him to chill out. He ended up going back in the game. It looked like he was trying to show up the Patriots and their fans but whatever. Par for the course with this guy.

I'm shocked Ray could be embraced in Baltimore- home of the Stop Snitchin' movement- considering he is a snitch.

You would have a bigger problem with a person who prays in public than a person who commits murder. Prejudice knows no bounds.

"The white suit Lewis was wearing the night of the killings has never been found. Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard alleged the blood-stained suit was dumped in a garbage bin outside a fast food restaurant."*

Yup the media sure can be a fickle be-otch can't it?

On one hand the media goes absolute bat-sh*t crazy over a fake GF and a Mormon kid at ND.

OTOH, Ray Ray "Murder 1" Lewis is given a farewell tour fit for a conquering hero.

Oh right...this is the same media that was so far up Lance Armstrong's butt in praise they bought the PED lie for a decade...never mind.

Hey guys I shared a lot of the same not so great opinions on Ray Lewis, a few years back I was pointed pointed to this video which changed my opinion of him quite a bit. I agree he probably didn't make some great decisions when younger, if you look at where and how he grew up it definitely wasn't the suburbs. I can definitely appreciate that people have different backgrounds and make mistakes, I think Ray has atoned for his and has became one of the greatest middle linebackers of all time with a character to match.

That's a pretty decent euphemism for murder, two times.

Even without the possible murder involvement, he is consistent with the joke about "chaos" being Oakland on Father's Day. Lewis has six children by four different mothers. Married to any of them? Of course not. He is what he is, and that is his business. I don't want him anywhere near my kids, me or my friends. He is a role model for himself. He is selfish and narcissistic. Others are too, but they are not on the front page leading up to the Super Bowl. If he had gone to prison, he would have had fewer kids--and that would have been better.

I don't ever remember him being convicted of murder. Look I used to think the same way you did, do a little research on the guy and you might change your mind. If your looking for character witlessness watch the video.

Sorry anyone involved in 2 murders or the cover up of 2 murders is someone i cant take serious as a man of character, ever! I cant stand a person who preaches God every second of his life, yet when you look at his overall body of work as a human being it doesnt resemble that of someone who tries to act holier than thou.................hes a great football player, but outside of the football field this isnt someone im rooting for

When he produces his blood stained white suit I will consider cutting him some slack.

The media just loves him, and he knows how to play to the cameras. He is like the David Beckham of the NFL, long after being an elite player people are still treating him like he is. The dancing, the eye black, all of it just keeps people watching.

If you watched the AFC title game and caught the National Anthem, I'm sure you didn't miss the long close-ups of Ray's passionate rendition. You think he didn't know the camera would be on him? He is made for TV, the moment he retires all of the networks are going to scramble over each other to sign him.

Not sure how you judge an elite player but would leading your team in tackles against their last three playoff opponents count as being elite?

From afar, and what I like about Ray Lewis is that he survived all his past troubles and succeeded spectacularly at his profession...over a long and sustained period of time; and, despite his schtick, he appears blessed with an indomitable spirit which is visibly infectious amongst grown men (=teammates). Fascinating.

Will Munny: It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. Take away all he's got and all he's ever gonna have.

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.

Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

Little Bill Daggett: I don't deserve this... to die like this. I was building a house.

Will Munny: Deserve's got nothin' to do with it.
[aims gun]

Little Bill Daggett: I'll see you in hell, William Munny.

Will Munny: Yeah.

What does this have to do with prejudice? Lewis is a thug and deserves contempt. Tebow, although too pious for my taste, is a fine young man. Who cares about the race of wither one of them.

The only reason there is this worship around Ray Lewis is because people are incredibly stupid and getting dumber by the minute. He's nothing but a Thug U pile of sh*t and his fans worthless morons.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
a lot of people dont care about whether he participated in the coverup of a murder.
ray lewis gets attention because:
1. that dance he does
2.he talks alot
3. is a good football player

This is stuff about him finding god is all good and dandy but like Tebow I can care less. If you have became a better person then great, if you arent well then youre just lance armstronging it. If you believe in god and you believe that it has made you a better person then that is great for you. It gets annoying when people try to blast it all over as if it is meant for everybody. Ive never had a problem with christianity or their ideals. In fact there are many lessons that one can learn from faith, but I dont need it thrown in my face. For as much good as it seems to do, a little humility about their religion would be appreciated.

It has been my experience that one is much more likely to interest and draw others to your faith through sincere everyday acts of friendship, compassion, and kindness than through overtly public displays of praise or celebration.

I believe I saw that ESPN had already signed him for 3 years, I think it was. Could have something to do with their love fest.
