A friend of mine is close to these two. According to him, Kwame's boyfriend has a long history of hardship and chemical dependence. Kwame is very clean cut and quite the opposite (opposites attract, so they say).

Kwame has tried many times to calm some of his boyfriend's outbursts and usually is forced to do something that gets him into trouble. Hopefully they will end this relationship.

According to my friend, the real story is more complex. His boyfriend has a problem with substance abuse and repeatedly puts Kwame in difficult situations. Kwame usually looks like the bad guy even though he is a model citizen. All of the facts will soon be revealed at trial.

When is this ever justified? No matter what the other person has done, you do not just "pin him against a plate glass window" and "hit him several times in the face and head." Period. Our country is governed by a rule of Law, and according to the Law, a model citizen does not pin someone against a plate glass window and hit him several times in the face and head. Even if someone has committed a crime, no matter how heinous, the appropriate course of action is to go through our Judicial System, and not by hitting him several times in the face and head. Poor Kwame, innocent victim. His mean boyfriend stole his underpants forcing him to try to remove them in a restaurant and then pin him against the window and smash in his face.

The boyfriend may have a substance abuse problem, which I am sure Kwame's lawyers will try to use as a defense of Kwame's actions, but Kwame clearly has anger issues. Maybe he can blame the steroids?

Its to bad that people feel the need to make fun of someone to make themselves feel better, I'm all for Tiger Woods jokes but it sounds like someone Kwame cared about has a substance abuse problem. I don't know if any of you have every dealt with that but its not the funnest thing to deal with. Its really hard to turn someone away when you care about them knowing if you don't help they could die.

Was the substance he was abusing the rice or the soy sauce? Or is he addicted to Kwame's underwear? Having a really hard time putting this behavior in the context of the victim's alleged substance abuse. Hard to feel sorry for Kwame based on the facts presented here. Obviously if they materially differ and it turns out that Kwame was acting in self-defense, we have a different story.

Are you guys really that obtuse? How does the boyfriend (allegedly by Stanford posters) having a substance abuse problem in any way justify Kwame trying to take off the guys pants in a restaurant and then punching him in the face until his skull is crushed and needs reconstructive surgery?
