I think other than maybe adding enewally and Moore we are done. Or rather imo we should be done. There are only 12 seniors next year. Add in the "standard" attrition of 5 or so that's only 17 for what should be a better recruiting cycle at least I. Terms of preparations and relationships. Better to leave a couple open

:facepalm Man! What I don't understand is that I thought our $400 millions facility was going to bring a bunch of stars players.

I guess winning matters more than facility.

That doesn't explain Washington, then.

can you offer a guy on LOI day ? prospects dont have to sign on sigining day correct ?

I have read so much contradictory information about different recruits.

Can one of you knowledgeable posters please provide a simple list of the recruits in order of priority (based on how good these guys are thought to be) or in groups of priority. It would be great if you could include not just those that are officially "committed" to Cal but any that have decommitted or those that recently visited Cal. It would be great to have a score card to keep track of Cal's success on LOI day.

Normally I would not ask this of the posters since this would be a big task for most of us. But some of the posters (like Going4Roses) seem to have this info at their fingertips.

We went 3-9 and have been badly criticized for it. Our last staff was let go with no one being retained. The new staff came in and we are ranked top 30 in most important recruiting sites. We still have a few good recruits that may commit to us in Moore and Enewally. Give this staff next year to see what kind of class they can bring in with a full year and hopefully a better record.

If we also lose Ragin I think we are at 26. Assuming all the 3*4*5* guys are gone, do we just go with 26 or do we then offer the best 2* guys available and to hell with the ranking. Seeing the discussions on some of the successful 2*'s we've had it just makes sense to try to find these guys. What's the downside? A drop in the recruit class ranking? Who really cares, or if they do, why? Results matter to me.

We desperately need a couple of safeties and probably another OL or two. Hunt is gone. I hope the best for him but I'm not convinced Hinnant will recover enough from all his injuries to meet his pre-crash potential.

Let's max out the class with the best players available and let the coaches do their magic.

:gobears:

Well, the downside is they turn out like most 2 star players and don't turn into anything good on the field. Then we wasted scholarships on players who aren't pac 12 caliber.

We've gone to one 8 out of 10 years now. The point is that they're recruiting much better than their win total. Sometimes the staff makes a difference.

the 85 overall comes into play now and then, so you keep that in mind when throwing around "maxing out," but also keep in mind that any spots not filled might be used as EE/mid year transfers next year...

Nah, 4* Mansion

The 2* Olinemen protecting the QBs are a given at Cal.

yes and Washington beat Stanford. I know many love to dis Washington, but they have finished in the top half of the conference the last 3 years with a winning conference record. Cal has not. The one "decent" year Cal had was supplemented by 3 easy OC wins against Fresno St., Colorado and Presbyterian. Outside of that, they were 4-6 and 4-5 in the conference. Washington has beaten 5 ranked teams over the last 3 years. When was the last time Cal beat a ranked team (2009?)

Sorry folks but the record does not tell the story, Washington is a real competitor in the conference while Cal is just a Colorado and WSU away from bottom dwelling. So maybe we should stop bringing up Washington because we are just embarrassing ourselves.
