Kennedy Pola out as SC offensive coordinator. Officially today. It's been rumored on the green board for days though.

The other thing mentioned on the green board is Tedford coming in as SC's OC.

I don't see it happening but we'll see....

If you can't beat them, join 'em. I think Tedford might go.

Haha wasn't the guy that bolted for $C after Lane secretly talked to him behind Jeff Fisher's back at Tennessee? Better to work for a guy like Fisher than Lane.

Or maybe Polamalu just decided to decommit from $C as well?

Musical chairs with the coordinators... We've heard that song before.

The news in So Cal is that JT is very much in line for the job..Kiffin is said to perhaps relinquish play-calling...and JT's style lines up with USC..Getting back to his hometown in So Cal makes sense and we know he can recruit..Then, when Kiffin gets the hook, JT will be wearing the HC headset colored Cardinal and Gold..hahahaha if it happens..Wouldn't that be fun?? Clancy and JT reunited...in a renovated Coliseum this time! :bluecarrot:

The stars are aligned for JT. Then when lane gets fired, he will become HC.

Coordinators only get promoted when a head coach leaves on a good note. Examples: Kelly replacing Bellotti at Oregon, Shaw replacing Harbaugh at Stanfurd, and Helfrich replacing Kelly at Oregon. They never get bumped up when the head coach is fired for losing too many games.

There is no way that Tedford gets promoted to USC's HC if Kiffin gets canned. He would be perceived as part of the problem, not the solution.

If Tedford takes a college OC job, he should do it in the SEC (i.e. LSU). If he shows a little success there, he can get another big time college HC job in no time.

Unless Lane gets canned in middle of season and Tedford takes over. And if he does well he will be made permament. Star alignment complete

This almost never happens. Much more likely: he takes over as interim in between Lane getting canned and a lower-tier bowl game. Then a new coach is hired.

Tedford takes USC to the Rose Bowl. I could imagine the drunk suicidal posts on Golden Blogs.

It is all giggles now but Tedford and Pendergrast are good football coaches, regardless of the past few years. SC has no depth but more talent than anyone else. This could be the ultimate screw job Cal fans ever take. Ugh.

... would be a great fit. Tedford's experience with pro set coupled with the talent the Trojans bring to the table: I think SC could do great with this combo, in spite of Kiffen.

A lot of you good folks wanted him fired. It would be the ultimate pay back to the bears, seing as how CAL would pretty much be paying him to do it.

You gotta be kidding me. You can look at the current status of the program. The record of the last five years. The recruiting snafus. The APR issues and say you didn't think he should have been canned? I didn't fall off the Tedford bandwagon til the 2011 season but looking back it was pretty clear by 2009 or 10 that he wasn't the guy.

They will be able to absorb the play book in days. When the Pendergast / Tedford recruiting juggernaut hits the trail, the NFL will never return. The Guruing of top quarterbacks will be epic. Tread in fear, Cal fans, because your run of dominance over SC will soon end.

:tedford restore USC to greatness!

Good gawd.

Kiffin runs the offense and, so he fires the OC who had no control over the playcalling. I'm good with that. I'm great with JT as the USC OC, especially if Kiffin is still the HC. In fact, I'm great as long as Kiffin is HC.

A man of Tedford's repute taking orders from that douchenozzle Kiffin? I'll bet anyone 5.5 million dollars this doesn't go down.

But-t-t-t, Pendy's "record" against spread teams is a bit spotty, and JT "offense" could never keep up....

USC's talent differential could make a difference, however?

It would make for a very, very engaging matchup...come the season, if it happens.

Consider the irony of it all. We would be paying JT about $1M annually for the next 3 tears to whip our arse.

Well, Lane had his own father (the renowned Monte Kiffin) working under him and Monte didn't seem to mind at all. If Tedford swallows his pride, I think anything can happen. Plus, both Kiffin and Tedford have that Fresno State Alum thing going for them.

Who knows, maybe there's a secret pact calling themselves the "Bulldog Bros" or "Dogpound Disciples" or something like that, complete with secret oaths in which a Bulldog is obligated to help out a fellow Bulldog....lol.

It could easily happen. Loyalty means very little at the college and pro levels. Virtually every coach would move on if a promotion and more money/benefits were offered. Look at Lupoi et al moving to UW and Monty switching to Cal. I'd like to think that I would act differently if I were in their shoes but don't really know.

Personally I think Teddy will rip it up as an college OC (again) and yes, he might bring it to Cal. A couple of decent seasons and he'll get a HC job.

Would love to watch the Trojies in the "hurry up" .. Get to the line and look to the sideline, waiting patiently for the play call - dive into the line. Sprinkle in the obligatory delay of game and illegal procedure calls and "All is well" in LaLa land once again.

No need for Tedford. Just re-watch the last five minutes of the Notre Dame-USC game. They already have that down pat.

1st and goal, Jeff calls run up the middle with the smallest rb on the roster 2 times, loss of 4 yards,3rd down throw to the corner of the end zone incomplete, kick the field goal on 4th. I felt that we were competing really well and our kids never gave up. YABBA DABBA DOO!

JT had to leave Cal for multiple reasons.
How he does in Trojanland with all the resources they have and at OC says nothing about what needed to happen here when he was HC.

Kiffin and Tedford are pretty close, or at least Kiffin has publicly stated he looks up to Tedford as one of his few mentors.

He would be a great oc, but would be a fool to go there as lame will be canned next year and he'd be out if a job before they even got re settled.
