Love the plays going off quickly. Kragen, from the tweets, is sounding like he is having a great practice. Great everyone is getting a chance. This is the time for it.

Lawler seems to be doing very well too... overlooked by Powe, Treggs, and Harper, but part of the original fab 5 WRs

Lawler is doing great. Defense is pumped up tonight. Chris McCain in the middle of it all.

There were no pads today. McCain was here but a limited participant.

First, each quarterback has essentially had one practice, and although I understand everyone's excitement at the new guy, I believe it would be wise to simmer down the enthusiasm and not make rash, snap judgments. Further, I would desperately hope Sonny takes a little more time in choosing a quarterback. Consistency isn't proven in one practice.

Second, I doubt Bridgford transfers regardless, he is a senior and unless he goes to Div-AA he'll have to sit out a year. After seeing him play last year, I think having a Cal degree will help him, barring an unforeseen transfer into the Ivy league a la Sweeney.

As of now, I think either Hinder or Kline will be the starter with the other backing up. Goff looks pretty good out there and looks more along than Bridge and Boehm.

Boehm has the size to switch positions ... QBs usually make good WRs because of their ball handling.
What a difference ... seeing all the players getting a real opportunity to compete for a chance to play.

If Kline is being annointed by the second Spring practice of a new regime, there is no way anybody could say this is a less biased staff than the previous with regards to QB evaluation. Kline may ultimately be the best we have, but with as little practice and game film available on each of the QBs, it is way too premature for this to be a fair amount of competition at this point.

I don't think the staff have made up their minds yet, BTW. I would hope we give the kids more time to compete.

Relax, our best WR is not his half brother.

even if the coaches have a pretty good idea of who they want to start, you might as well keep them competing just so that everyone keeps their edge

The Franklin System is all about reps in practice. All the QB's will get beaucoup reps. This is practice makes perfect. All the QB's will know what to do, some will do some things better than others. There probably won't be one guy who does everything better. Just looking for that "Fit."

I was there today, and agree with this. Very organized practice with reps, speed in execution, and conditioning all mixed in. D and O players were really into everything, very spirited. Lots of coaching . Dykes mostly observed and was speaking to the team at the end, where all were assembled at the center of the field. This team is going to be very ready to play...

Step back and take a breath or two. The staff hasn't decided anything yet. This is a fan forum. Let it fly. For goodness sakes, noone needs a wake up call at this point that nothing is cast in stone. All will be measured, you can be sure.

Lasco participated a little. He did drills with the backs, ran a little. Same as some of the other "out for spring" guys.
