Healthy contingent of people here for 11AM.

News so far: Hinder and Boehm are NOT in yellow jersey. They'll play wide receiver some more today, I would expect...and if you want to read that as being Hinder being the #3 of the Klindergoff trio, be my guest.

More to come.

Not sure if this was mentioned earlier but Lasco is practicing.

He's been in and out. We'll see if he takes contact.

Likewise with Rodgers I'm guessing.

great tweets, Nam.
Injuries seem to be mounting daily ... now Tyndall went down.

Franklin with a fifty (50) coach seminar ... impressive.

From scrimmage tosay:

jaredgoff9 5/11 for for 93 yards and 1 TD; Also had 2 carries for 11 yards

ahinder7: 4/8 for 55 yards; 5 carries for 31 yards and 1 TD

zachklineqb: 5/6 for 90 yards and 1 TD. Big strike was a 59-yard pass to Drake Whitehurst. TD pass was 16-yards to Powe rolling right

Everyone knows I am biased, but anymore questions about Kline's accuracy? 6-8 last week and 5-6 today, including long ball completions each day. Others still under 50% - again. Just sayin'.

Dykes said before the season that of the freshman class, Muhammad had the best chance to play, because he is an impact player. Bigelow is still very questionable in my mind, so until we hear different, I'd guess that it might be Lasco, Muhammad, and Ervin, with Ervin drawing lots of praise from Dykes this Spring.

There are still moments in which that is in question. When you see him throw a ball 10 yards out of the end zone...are they far and few in between? Sure. But he can be headscratchingly bad at points.

ESP seats are nice.

Maybe not 100k a year nice [or whatever it is], but they're very comfortable.

Bad high passes were likely in reference to Hinder. Didn't get too much out of Kline, if I remember correctly.

Beito made from 41. Leininger punted for about 40 yards. D'Amato missed from 40, I think. You'll have some exact (official) numbers later on today, when Kyle McRae releases them.

The ESP seats most sat in are Field Club and nowhere near 100K a year each. If anyone out there is considering them though, there is no better way to try them out now than to come to the Spring Game next week!

(Just trying to do my tiny part to encourage a few more purchases - as we all know how much Cal could use the revenue!).

Now back to our regularly scheduled programming.

I don't recall one bad pass by Kline today (the others definitely had more 'headscratching' misses) during the scrimmage period.

I think the only incompletion by Kline was on a seam route to Harris - who was pretty well covered - and Kline still almost managed to drop the ball in there. The next play was the roll out 16 yard pass completed for a TD along the back of the endzone.

To be fair I haven't really paid attention to those guys because we don't punt/kick too often...even the press release doesn't mention the FG/XP kickers.

are those missed throws because he's putting too much on the ball and receivers are missing? throwing to high? busted play and trying to get anything cause it's spring practice kinda throws?

curious if anyone is seeing any tendencies with the qb's. someone said that Klines throws sometimes go too high and attributed to his being the shortest qb. granted he has recently thrown up some pretty accurate numbers so not sure if someone can surmise any tendencies.

anyone spotting tendencies in the other qb's? why did Goff miss and Hinder miss half their throws?

also, has anyone picked up on whether certain WR's seem to be more in rhythm with a particular qb?

Hinder in his interview talked about how this was the first time he was in a position to get hit in two years. He indicated he had some extra adrenaline going and acknowledged he threw some passes high. He then said he settled down after.

Basically; when you're wearing a white jersey and *expecting* to get hit things get a little more exciting. Seems reasonable and it's definitely something the QBs have not been exposed to so far.

If true, it must be tremendously frustrating for the D that is gearing up for the upcoming game and itching to hit someone...anyone.

i dont have the info your looking for .. but i say wait till fall , even the leader at end of spring game will still need to work with the offense during summer to nail it down and add in some good luck on no major injuries this team will be fine imo

had a very nice time at practice ... hope everyone that can come next sat afternoon does it is going to be off the hinges

after practice is it ok to go on the field ?

ps one more side note i dont think the defense has started to blitz yet so that will be a big factor when QB shakedown takes place

What missed throws are we talking about?! He's got 3 in completions in 2 scrimmages combined! The other guys are under 50% completion percentage and klines at 80%. This accuracy concern is officially silly.

In the scrimmages where there have been very limited snaps for everyone, they really haven't asked Kline to make screens, swings and hitches. Those, however, are pretty essential throws in this offense and Kline is noticeably behind the others when you watch practices.

Swings and hitches are the easiest and highest percentage throws. They can all make those So you are saying Kline hasn't hadthese throws but is still at 80% while others others have had these high percentage throws but are below 50% - and Kline is noticeably behind?! I am upfront about my bias for Kline, but I am not seeing your position at all.

i was referring to comments elsewhere in the forum that have questioned his decision making. my Kline bias being what it is, I'm just curious to know what happened on the missed throws. and I was also trying to broaden the question to all the qb's. Goff is frequently said to be ahead of the curve because he is the one that has most recently played in live games and has been playing a similar system to what we are developing at Cal. so, if he is ahead, and in other practices he has done so well, then why did Goff's completions drop? same goes for Hinder's completions.
