Crumpacker's article and that "respect the past" vid from cal athletics almost make it seem like all the sports are getting a new look.

The unis look like they could be pretty badass.

It's also cool that they got J. Kidd to get involved, although he didn't really seem too enthusiastic ... maybe acting/advertising is not his forte.

They don't look any simpler than our old ones. Looks like there are yellow stripes on the pants and a significant yellow collar. At least the helmet stripe is gone.

Well, as someone who prefers the 80s/90s design, I don't think these look bad based on the blurry images. They look kind of like the last design only cleaner and without so many stripes.

I don't really care for the "solid color" (all blue or all white) look -- I think football uniforms generally look better if the jerseys and pants are contrasting colors. But at the same time, you can do a lot worse. I do think the gold side stripes on the blue unis help to provide some of the needed contrast (though gold pants would be better!).

I will be happy if we are not mixing-and-matching different colored jerseys and pants from game to game, as per different groups of players' whims.

I think you, and others, will be sorely disappointed. I have no idea what the huge splotch of yellow is around the collar, above the numbers, but it looks... loud.

refer to stillnostanfurdium's post. there doesn't seem to be any other obvious thing that could be in that spot. "sleeves" and "shoulders" is not something u mix up every day.

That splotch of yellow looks like the collar stripe Nike has on all of their jerseys, but most teams keep their collar stripes the same color as their jerseys. Looks like ours is going to be gold.

I felt that the blue could be a little deeper, and the gold less fluorescent, but I did like the way it looked on her...I think it will be a great crowd pleaser...

One of the themes is definitely consistency of the logo across the sports as they showed several sports with all the various styles (e.g. Bears, California, CALIFORNIA, Cal), but since they opened the video, closed the video, and had the Cal logo on the brief case, it looks like the Cal script will be the consistent logo.

However, from the fuzzy video, it doesn't look like the script Cal on the helmet (which I prefer to keep)

Seems like that's the primary logo for Cal football, but Cal basketball seems to use CALIFORNIA a lot.

Seems like the entire Cal athletic program will be getting new uniforms.

Basketball uniforms (IMO) tend to look better with a name spelled out across the front -- the "Cal" script doesn't really lend itself to that, so "CALIFORNIA" in block letters works nicely.

Exactly. I'm expecting to be disappointed, as Nike has never done right by me (not that they care).

I would have wanted gold pants at home and blue on the road, but in the end I really don't care.

^^This. The slash marks are the thing I most dislike about the current unis.

I think this whole thing is a hoax. There's no way that uniform fits inside that metal case. Something just doesn't add up.

I think the stripes on the side of the pants are bear paws/claws. Hmm not sure if I like that. Think about the ducks with their comical wings on the shoulders. That must have been the inspiration.

Kidd did mention Bears on the sleeves.

Our new mascot's name is Mark?

Don't like the slash markings on the jerseys or pants..Need to save the Cal logo on the helmet. Don't care about much else except nix the white helmets or all-black combos that some teams have tried..I have always liked CALIFORNIA like the b-ball team uses..That is truly 'us'!
