As we have discussed before stats can be deceiving, especially those involving --- please make it stop  --- MAYNARD.
A few dink and dunk passes thrown to KA (and other WR's) who had to make the spectacular catchs off balance shows more the quality of the receivers than the quality of the passer. They rarely were well thrown and rarely resulted in TD's.
Imagine what would have been KA's record if a good QB were throwing to him.
Uh, well it was the same receiver(s) in all four cases. And the idea that Maynard was a "dink and dunk" passer is very off--in fact (just like Riley), those were the throws he had the most trouble with (especially swing passes) and were the most frustrating to watch.
Yards Per Completion:
2011 Maynard 12.9
2010 Riley 12.7
2012 Maynard 12.3
2010 Mansion 9.6
2012 Bridgford 8.9
I agree with your last sentence though. Keenan could have done far more with a better quarterback and especially a better offense. He'd be spectacular in the Bear Raid. I think he is going to be a steal for some NFL team. The idea that he has "character issues" is bunk. He is a good guy, including being a good brother.
