Looking at the roster it might be a quiet draft for Cal next year. Deandre Coleman could be a potential first round pick, but who else is on the radar to be drafted? This is a darn young team...

Forbes, and maybe McClure.

Probably only Coleman next year. It's been a while since we've only had one person drafted. None of the underclassmen are realistic candidates for early entry into the draft...at least not at this point.

With a strong year this year that might change though...

I doubt McClure goes early, either. Having another full year to showcase his skills can make him a lot more money.

Really slim draft pickings from the '09 and '10 classes that comprise the 2014 draft eligible guys. Not much of a surprise when you factor in that '09 was a weak class and consider the circumstances surrounding the '10 class, with the best player (Keenan) going pro early, lots of academic and injury casualties (Carter, Clay, Montgomery, Whiteside, Martin, Briggs) and most of the rest redshirting, leaving no seniors from that 2010 class coming into next season.

Normally you'd have 4-6 4th year seniors added to a larger group of 5th year redshirt seniors but not this year.

Small senior class for 2013 but a very large junior class so 2015 should see a ton or two of Bears being projected into the NFL.
That large junior class makes recruiting this year extra critical to get talented student-athletes in line to replace them.

I can definitely see McCain coming out. Bigelow if he has a big year could come out. Possible big years from Richard Rogers, V, Jalil, Forte, etc. and they could possibly come out as well.

The names I gave were just based off speculation on who could be very draft eligible with strong years...but among the seniors, it's pretty clear that it'll probably only be Coleman.

I'm sure that when considering academic proficiency (outside of Forte, whose academic situation I'm not aware of), most of those guys would like to come out this year. It's just really tough for players to garner enough draft attention in one strong season to overcome a couple years largely wasted to missed time due to injuries.

I suppose I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the academically borderline juniors declare i.e. pull a "Jamal Sampson".

Fortt has an NFL type body. I am not predicting he leaves early but if he blows it up in 2013 I think someone would draft him. I think all 3 starting linebackers-- Jefferson, Fortt, and Forbes--will eventually play in the NFL.

Unless something changes in a year, McCain's weight is not going to be NFL ready...

If Coleman plays the way he has been playing for the past 3 years, he wont even be drafted. Unless he plays up to his potential, it will probably stay that way.

Why McCain? He is 225 lbs. and injury-prone.

Got the dredds and the self-confident attitude, too. He reminds me a little of Marshawn in his second year. Beast mode genesis. Khairi (pronounced Ky-ree) could be a fan favorite in 2013 (this fan anyways), especially if he picks up a scrambling Braxton Miller and plants him into the turf like a tree. Feeling jacked up myself just thinking about it.

Plus he has been very injury prone, he would have to have a huge year and put on at least 25blbs.

plus Gibson, Barton, Wilkerson, Nickerson, if we can stay away from the injury bug this year we should have a very stout LB group.
