Just got back from the game - Steph went NBA jams style. I swear the ball had flames on it when it left his hands at the end of the third quarter. It was effortless. He's a special talent - hope his ankles don't prevent him from having a long and successful career.

Wow indeed.....Jack is doing fantastic too. Who woulda thought that without Lee, they be bringing it to Denver like they are but our bench is awesome....by the way, when Steph was kind of floundering a bit in the 1st half, the big man was bringing the heat......

Denver really isn't built for the playoffs. Lawson is the only guy they have who can score in a half-court offense and he can't do it alone. They look old, slow and disorganized. It's amazing they were able to win 57 games this year.

It's Jarrett Jack, not Jacks. For some reason it really bugs

Amazing performnace by the Dubs.

The couple attempts as gold outs have been miserable failures.

It would be easier to pull off with hoops since the numbers are smaller and much of those in attendance are season ticket holders.

In football, too many people won't get the message or not have the desire to do it.

Maybe if a sponsor handed out gold shirts at the entrances to people not wearing gold?

It's pretty cool when it works.

You don't hand them out. You simply put one on every seat. Compared to a basketball game, though, you'd need almost 4x as many shirts for a football game at Cal.

It'd also have to be a night game to have a good effect, imo.

That's exactly what the Warriors did this last week. One over every seat. Maybe add $5.00 to the ticket price for Northwestern, put one over every seat with the understanding to keep and wear in future games. Slowly, it might catch on.

Maybe the fact that the shirts were free and given out as the fans entered the arena had something to do with it. If CAL did that it would work too.

I think they did it that way because there were 4 different versions of the shirts - the fronts were identical but the backs said either Unite, Protect, Defend or Battle. Typically when the warriors give out shirts they do it at the gate and I think that works fine.

I'm particularly happy they did it this way because during the 2007 playoffs I arrived too late to the games I attended to get one of the we believe shirts.

The other thing they did last night was shame people into wearing their shirts by pointing them out on the jumbotron and flashing "wear your shirt" or something like that. Everyone was booing until the shamed person put on the shirt. They probably singled out 10-20 people during the course of the game.

So what if you wear an XS or a 2X and they put an L on all seats. That doesn't seem like it would work.

Won't work here. There will be a-hole students that will grab 5-6 shirts. I've seen it happen before where students came over to the young alumni section to grab entire rows worth of hats and bring back to their section.

I have a whole drawers worth of large Warriors shirts that they hand out for various games that I've never worn other than during the game I got them in.

If you (or more likely your SO or mom) is decent with a needle you can probably tailor them to fit.

Didnt they try to do a gold out before where they passed out Yellow Joe Roth shirts at the UCLA game?

Yeah I got one of those. I don't remember if it was only for the student section, or everyone.

Back then we were still kinda good.

The hoops ones were great even without handing out anything (except to students I believe). Yet we could do even better.

For football we tried it for UW but by that time, with us sucking big time, the Friday night logistics nightmare, and just general malaise that was the 2012 season, a Gold Out was bound to be a moribund affair. We put our hearts into it in earnest for a night game and it will rock. Again, keep doing it in hoops though.

At least the entire ESP section got involved in the gold out.

Props to whoever installed those yellow seats.

If our uniforms were more GOLD all the time, it might catch on more.... For example, if Sonny goes with the home uniform to be gold jerseys with blue pants for ALL home games it would become more a part of the Cal style and a GoldOut would be more understood.

I like the idea!!

Maybe, but it's not like the Warriors usually wear gold uniforms either -- white at home, blue on the road, with gold trim. Their gold-out works because they give away t-shirts, so of course people will wear them.

Who? Oh, right, this is the Steph Curry thread. I thought we were talking about Gold Outs.

Dude is playing out of his mind. I liked the shot from the corner where he spun away to face the bench immediately after shooting and started jogging back down the court.

Gold/Yellow is also a much more striking color. Back when they used orange unis as their alternates, and orange-out would have looked good too. Any sort of light color will be much more impactful than a darker color.
