It used to be freshman in all sports were in dorms. But I don't think we had a sophomore requirement. In any case, I think at least one year is a good idea and it fits in with Dykes wanting to integrate the team more with the school.

That's nothing. At Kentucky the hoop players dorms are in the arena and have to sign on and our every time they leave.

They did. So 51% of the spots are open to non-basketball players by application and interview, decided by the "existing residents" (i.e. the basketball players). The final result will be a dorm filled with basketball players and Kentucky's most beautiful, willing basketball groupies or player's girlfriends. Nice set up for the players until the NCAA shuts down that loophole.

So much for players getting together into apartments and splitting their scholarship money to buy mopeds.

When I was there in '59, many, many FB players lived in Bowles because it had seven foot beds, and I think most frosh/soph FB players lived in dorms.

I thought that was already a requirement. One of my son's was a resident of the Clark Kerr Campus for all 4 of his years. He told me of the Cal FB and BB players he got to know at Clark Kerr many of whom were there several years.

It's hard to compete against national champions and also SEC schools where cheating is a way of life, classes aren't required and you have all the hand delivered money and tail you want.

Why dont they make them live in Bowles instead? Next to campus and stadium...and no girls living next to them.

I lived at Bowles in the mid 80's. We had a few football players, most notably punter Scott Tabor!
