Exactly. Of course you have to respect the local mores (pun)--what is acceptable on a French beach would not be acceptable on most American beaches. I do work with the island state of Yap in Micronesia, where the women go topless but women who visit are admonished to make sure their thighs are covered in public (no short shorts)...

Miss World should simply always be somewhere where bikinis can be worn publicly at a beach.

BTW, that photo is clearly NOT of Indonesia. They do not wear burkas in Indonesia.

yea mizery i think phantom got u on this one. its a beauty pagent where a large part of the judging is based on looks. they really should have held the event in a less traditional country. its great that you dont base your personal relationships solely on looks, to each their own. but generally these pagents are 90% about looks

I think by the time you get to the final competition, there's so much parity in the looks department that contestants can really only differentiate and set themselves apart by using their brain.

btw, I consider linking an article from a hate website as 'ignorance', the article had nothing to do with the OP neither (which is also ignorance).
