Entertaining, but the Bears just did not play well enough to win.
Fun to watch. Lots of attendance at CMS this year. Bears should win a few.

Not only this, but you don't want to score that quickly and give them back the ball with the game tied and 3 min to go, you use the clock and move methodically.

It's 99% sure to be over, but I have to say I saw a lot of improvement over the course of the game and saw a lot of fight in our team. I'm optimistic going forward.

Actaully overall the run defense was rather good. We've been gashed for only a few big runs and kept the majority of the attempts to less than 4 yards.

Unfortunately, get a feeling that the D is having a bit of an issue with the fact that the offense managed to lose this game completely. If Cal doesn't give up the 2 pick sixes, Cal would be ahead by 7 right now.

I was entertained. First time I could say that about the bears in years. I like Goff, he's gonna be a good one.

Pretty good first game for Goff but I'm not a big fan of him at all. The first and the third picks were in him. He also could have easily thrown a couple of more picks.

There are a lot of positives for this young team, but we have to cut down on the mistakes. Mistakes are part of being young. Growing Pains Suck!

disagree. it wasn't good. good rushing defense doesn't allow "a few big runs" and over 200yds on the ground.

This game reminds me of why I hate p12 refs.

I have zero respect for the NU injury faking. I thought it was pathetic when we did it and I still think it's pathetic. I will be rooting against Northwestern the rest of the year.

Couple of unlucky bounces on tipped balls - only really bad int was that last one as we had momentum after Logan's pick.

At least there's hope - decent first game against a ranked opponent. Couple of breaks and we could win this one. Pissed at the McCain ejection (I can understand the 15 yard penalty but not the ejection) and the stupid "fake" injuries by NW helped their D out - threw us off our rhythm.

That is my thinking. This is a team that won 10 games last year....and as they said was leading in the 4Q in the three losses.

I think that Geoff can be something special - not a huge high mark but he throws the out SO much better than Maynard. I am not happy with some of the bunderhead penalties. Kicking the ball out of bounds three times is just criminal and I would like to see us gamble a bit more on D - we really never sent more than 5 (and I think that only happened twice).

I do think our line play remains a "work in progress" - we just could not create space for our running backs and that is a problem on a team without a true between the tackles bruiser.

I think we can beat Ohio State
