Basically Northwestern should fire their S&C coach immediately if all those injuries were legit because he's training his team to crumble like wet toilet paper at a touch.

But of course, only on a first down or gain by the opposing team.

We had one fake injury... the rest were real (the players were out for the game iirc)

Northwestern fakes injuries like crazy. I started to say, "if the clock doesnt stop, someone will be injured" and shockingly, they were...

I also really liked how the "injured" player would be always be in 2 plays later. It was pretty obvious what the NWU players were doing.

Fitz is such an asshole. His comment made no sense. He knew damned well they were faking injuries, and when called on it, actually had the nerve to go on the offensive.

I wonder if his and Dyke's post game handshake and conversation had anything to do with that.

I was at the game so I can't comment but I heard the handshake was somewhat confrontational. There's a thread on the NU rivals site about it. Interestingly enough, some folks in Evanston are blaming the S&C coach...

P.S. We should expect far worse out of Lupoi's D line in the upcoming game in the drizzle.

P.P.S. Maybe we owe the Ducks an apology? At least we can empathize with them.

Officials need to step up and not allow that crap NW employed tonight.
They eject our DE for on an absolute BS interpretation and let them fall down and blatantly slow the game down with no flags for delay.
The longest non OT game I've ever been too. Seemed like play was stopped after every other play.

Fitz is a liar if he denies it. I have no respect for him. Cal is going to see this all year if the refs don't stop it by making the players sit the rest of the quarter. The NU guys were not even sitting down or getting medical attention after their fake injuries. Pathetic. They don't cheat any better than we did against the Ducks when Tosh supposedly instigated it. Didn't our getting taught teach that lying SOB (Fitzgerald) anything about how to fake?

And its very clear that Dykes was 100% sure the injuries were fake, that was the only reason to answer the direct question by saying "it's probably better if I don't say."

More of the Lupoi Laydowns can be expected from several teams.
Wilcox and Lupoi have probably already assigned players to DI spots (designated injuries). Pendergast is no doubt working on it.
This will clearly separate the ethical programs from those that need to cheat to try to win.

Best part of the first link was Sonny's comments on the fake field goal TD.
Sonny and the coaches wanted the team and fans to know that Cal is playing to win.
The first drive, lining up for the FG, I thought "oh well, at least we get 3".
Then a TD. Oh my!
