People are discounting the tigers. They still have a great lineup and best top 4 starting pitchers in baseball

The A's are gonna ride Bart to the World Series.

A's first game starter Bartolo Colon allowed four earned runs, total, in five September starts.
A's second game starter Sonny Gray has ~ a 1.90 ERA at home.
A's third game starter Jarrod Parker went four months without a loss.

The A's starters led the American League in lowest opposing average (.245) and on-base percentage (.298), and they were second in ERA (2.72).

Closer Grant Balfour saved a team-record 44 games in a row from last year to this one; and finished 38-for-41 in converting save opportunities, the fourth-best percentage in the league.

Oakland's bullpen was reliable much of the year, putting up a 3.22 ERA, third best in the league, and the unit didn't allow a run in eight of the final nine games.

This group is so strong that Opening Night starter Brett Anderson is in the bullpen and 14-game winner A.J. Griffin on the sideline with tendinitis, and the team doesn't miss a beat.

Damn. Tampa Bay is like a bad smell you can't get rid of. Great baseball people, though

They do not have the best starting 4 in baseball. Have you watched Verlander this year? He is down and will not get worse each season.

He's their 3rd best pitcher with a 3.46 era. What does that say about their staff?

Two words .... Home Field.

The A's technically had home field last year but because of the new double wild card, they started in Detroit

This year, with the tarps off and both games
Sold out, the O.co will be rocking

Also, Cabrera is hurting big time but gutting it out ... this is the year for green and gold (and I am NOT talking about the floaters from Eugene)

That Verlander isn't great this year... Scherzer got the highest run support all season which lead to his high number of wins. Pitts starters are better with Liriano, Burnett and Cole. The A's starters are arguably better from top to bottom. The Dodgers are better with Kershaw, Greinke and Ryu. The best of all stats wise is the Braves starting pitching. Major league leading 3.18 era and a 1.20 whip.

After one game? No, no I don't. I'm basing my opinion on a seasons worth of work.

The Dodgers-Braves series illustrated why people were sleeping on the Braves.

It is because the Dodgers are better.

People are sleeping on the Braves. They have a lower team ERA then the Dodgers. Dominant Bullpen. They also have scored more runs than the Dodgers. They also had fantastic runs this year, including two long winning streaks above 10 games.

With Bucholz back Red Sox over the Braves in four, maybe five.

Yeah, I don't think the Braves are going to make it to the World Series.

I would love that. Ha

Tigers vs braves with the tigers winning in 6

Yeah, something tells me that the Indians and the Braves are not going to make it to the World Series.

All these small market NL teams are the same to me. Someone else will lose in five
