Yeah Baylor seems a stupid comparison. Sadly I do think that Tim deRuyter is making a pretty powerful case for himself for a good job next year. 5-0 and getting better.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you haven't seen his record in his first two seasons at Baylor. First year, ZERO conference wins. 2nd year, 2.

Didn't make a bowl either season. And his ooc for either year was a joke compared to ours.

Took him 5 years to make real noise. But sure...

Zero conference wins? What? He won TWO conference games in his 1st year at Baylor and went 4-8 overall.

And some of those losses were pretty respectable close losses to ranked teams.

No, your point doesn't stand. Baylor was competitive in Brile's first year. We are not even competitive. We are getting blown out in the 1st Q against ranked team....heck, even to a crap team like cougars.

We can't tackle. Our player does a freaking somersault into an endzone to get an unsportsmanlike penalty when we are down playing a catch up.

This team is getting worse, not better.

The season is not over. You cannot say with any certainty that this team will not improve by years end. Even in year 2, Briles' team was still only managing to put up points in the teens against conference teams. And only beat one conference team.

And beyond that, comparing Dykes in his 1st year to Briles in year 6 of the Baylor rebuild is beyond ridiculous. Briles has now perfected his system at Baylor and has more than enough recruiting classes under his belt there to do what he needs to get done. And depth, clearly. Something the last regime left us none of.

I'm not saying the defense isn't fundamentally bad right now, and I'm no fan of Buh. But lets not pretend like Briles didn't take 4 years to rebuild Baylor, and 6 to make them scary good. Which is what you're seeing now.

I would like to see Baylor play Oregon - I sincerely believe Baylor would score sixty points and lose.

Plus Baylor cheats. I just can not imagine the uproar that would occur at Cal if we pulled some of the stuff surrounding the Baylor programs.
