This one is for Tommie, who seemed to very much enjoy chirping about Philly during the two weeks they struggled on offense.

The Eagles are 4th in the league in scoring offense (27.7 ppg) and 2nd in the league in total offense (449.8 ypg).

All this while missing their starting QB the last 1.5 games and one of their top two WRs the entire season. I think the jury is still out, but early returns favor the Oregon O.

Sounds great after beating the winless bucs and winless giants and that was after racking up meaningless yards while being destroyed by the broncos 20-52 (who allowed 48 to the cowboys). I'm glad you are spiking the football and find their numbers impressive. All it shows me is they can beat up on crappy teams and rack up yardage while being blown out. Congrats?

The offense numbers will only improve when they face Dallas this week who has allowed the 2nd most yards in the league behind Philly so can't wait for you to gloat after that one. Facing 4 of the 6 worst yards allowed defenses will do that for an offense.

The NFL is the NFL, putting up points is putting up points, no matter the opponent. Chip Kelly's offense is good because it is based on solid fundamentals and having a strong offensive identity. It is not a fluke.

I haven't been watching the Eagles but I'm convinced that Oregon's greatest innovation is holding off the line of scrimmage. Do the Eagles do that as well?

Holding off or simply just holding. I've never seen a team get away with so many questionable holding calls as Oregon. Particularly out on the edge and with their receivers.

As someone who watches the Eagles pretty much every week, I would say that the offense is only as good as the defense. The Eagles D is not good and has put the offense in some difficult positions. There is limited talk here in Philly about whether its working, but more of a focus on who should be the QB once Vick is healthy.

The worst part is the holding calls come about as often as their losses.

Hey, we can agree to revisit this after all returns are in, but as long as you're going to gloat when they suck you can't allow me not to reciprocate.

I admit their success so far has come against below average competition, but they are shellacking those guys. Vick goes down and they don't miss a beat. As kad said, this is the NFL. Being #4 in scoring is impressive.

It seems like some of this conversation is happening as if it were College Football. A win is a win in the NFL. I think the "truth" will be more evident after year 2...

You have to give Kelly time before you judge his system and success with the pros. Bill Walsh started out 2-14 with the 9ers in 1979. 6-10 in 1980, 13-3 in 81. It's a good parallel because Kelly is also installing a radically new system.

I think he will hold his own with the Eagles, make them a consistent playoff team with an exciting offense, sort of like the Chargers under Coryell, but I don't think he's going to build a Walsh-style dynasty.
