I've seen other tickets (sports, concerts, etc.) advertised on Stubhub, Craigslist, etc. for $1 only to find out that it is just to catch your attention and take a look at their ad. The actual ticket prices are always much more than $1. Of course I could be wrong about Saturday's probable yawner.

no $1 plus a small printing fee. Saved a bunch over the last few years by going to stubhub the day before a game

No I dont. While non-season ticket holders get $1 tickets I still pay $85 a game for the privilege of the AD screwing me when Cal gets good again.

The signs of rock bottom are ever present. Is it even possible to sell tickets on stubhub for less than $1? That's what may be preventing people from giving them away.

Not only that, but there are some very good seats (e.g. benchback seats in EE, F, FF, H and HH) going for low prices. Saw some for $25 or $30 each.

I'm springing for the $1.49 ones. What the hell... you only live once! Don't tell my wife.

My friend bought $1 txs on stub hub for $1 to WSU game and after service charges it totaled $6

With the SF Giants "what u see is what u pay"- the fees built in on Stub Hub as I bought about 12 txs this past season

But not so w/ Cal txs, but still a great bargain, usually end zone seats, but u can move around once u get in, and find loads of empty seats in CMS

2 University Club seats were available at $200 each
and
2 Stadium Club Seats were available for $85 each.

The SC tix were the price performer as it has an open bar and open buffet.... which equates to pre game cocktails and appetizers, dinner with wine, desert with cocktail.....and lots and lots of just plain alcoholic beverages.

And....the possibility of seeing a sporting event.

That would be dynamic pricing

I usually get the cheapest possible Tix and sneak into the student section (Please don't try if over 30).

It's not as bad as it seems actually (financially). Oregon State was bundled with the Ohio State gme in the package deals, so it's likely a ton of the tickets are tOSU (see how helpful that t is in this case?) fans dropping them for whatever they can. So Cal fans should go out, buy up all the $1 seats and have a good time courtesy of the traveling buckeyes.

And it looks like stubhub's minimum fees are $10 per order, but of you go in and buy more than 2 tickets, those don't scale up for a while. Sad, for that $1 ticket, the seller gets 85 cents, stubhub gets $10. Kind of in the 'why bother' range?

Could be pretty bad for AZ however.

The purchase of season tickets is a substantial donation to the program. It simply is.

Yeah, you get tickets - but (sadly) 8 years out of 10 you could get the same tickets for much less money on the secondary market. And you can pass on the games that aren't worth the effort for whatever reason (8 pm start, pouring rain, crappy opponent, or sometimes all three!). You don't have to pay for the games you have to miss (wedding or kids' soccer match). This is even more true with Basketball. Do they really think I want to go out on a December Tuesday to see us play SE North Dakota St.?

But I buy season tickets anyway. Because I want to support the program. I consider it a donation - but it often does not feel like they look at it the same way.

In Haas, my seats are right behind the 'extra payment seats'. Not surprisingly, those seats are not always sold as season tickets. They are the worst of the expensive seats after all. So the AD sells them game by game. For the opponents whose fans travel well (UofA, UCLA) we often show up to find them sitting in a block, right in front of us. Nothing like suddenly finding yourself in the opponents rooting section and they have better seats than you do. Thanks Cal!

There has to be something they could do to reward the Season Ticket holders loyalty. Getting first crack at buying extra tickets just doesn't do it for me - although the bobble heads are nice.:sarc:

but ... hell, you get all the free canned music and get to watch and listen to the ads.
If you watched the game on TV, you'd miss all that.
Hell, us TV viewers have to visit a nice, clean, nearby bathroom or rummage in a full refrigerator during timeouts.
Sometimes I pet the pooches (or a willing female, abandoning the 2nd half to do other things).

Cal Athletics should hand out some tickets at People's Park. The stadium would be less empty. I'm I right? :newnana:

What is funny about th Nachos is that I was going to start a thread about that after the Ohio State Game. I had to walk from concession stand to concession stand until I finally found one that had nachos. Finally, got the nachos and when I walk over to get the jalapenos they are out. Then I go from concession to concession lookin for jalapenos. FInally find them, get back to my seat and guess what? The cheese is completely cold (There wasn't much cheese anyways!) Also, I missed most of the 3rd quarter.

I don't see myself living in the BA much longer, so I splurged.

If I'm still here next year there is no way I'm buying season tix again. Not on a postdoc salary, at least.

I'm telling you, nothing ruins a football game experience more than poor nacho execution. You'd think the simplified three-ingredient system would be easy to get right. Yet here we are seven games in still struggling with soggy nachos, cold cheese and missed jalepenos. There's really no excuse for this lack of improvement in a system so simple. Even if the people operating the concessions are new, how difficult can it be? I wish we hadn't signed a long-term contract with these concession people. It's going to cost is a fortune to fix this, to say nothing of the wasted nacho season.

That's completely ridiculous. The nacho situation, that is. Excluding the jalapeos should be a federal crime. That's the essential ingredient that makes this delightful offering really shine. This is bull crap.
