Just out of morbid curiosity, I checked the boxscores to see how Bridgford is doing. East Carolina is beating So Miss. 52-0. Bridgford is 2-11 for 15 yards. If JT were still at Cal, Bridgford might be starting. We could have been 0-6 so we can feel a little lucky.

I have to imagine even Tedford would have gone with Kline by now. I don't think he would have started Goff as a true freshman, but you'd hope the difference between redshirt freshman Kline and Bridgford would have been obvious. Besides, he was no longer beholden to Keenan Allen for his QB decision.

I feel sorry for Bridgford. Too bad he seems to have modeled his throwing motion after Tim Tebow.

I sincerely doubt Bridgford would have been the starter this year if Tedford was still around. I don't think Goff would be the starter, but I am very confident it would have been Hinder or Kline. Bridg just really wasn't all that good.

What makes you think he ever was? Tedford doesn't play true freshmen. Of everyone else on the roster, Maynard was our best player by far last season. This is really sad, but unfortunately true.

Hang on, I'll agree that Maynard may have been the best quarterback last season, but he was definitely not the best player on the team last year. Keenan, CJA, Sofele, Forbes, Anthony, Williams, are just a few of the players I think had a better season.

Agreed, it would be Kline or Hinder if JT were here.

It would've been Hinder or Kline.

Bridgford's throwing motion changed after he tore his right shoulder up lifting weights as a freshman - he was never the same after surgery - look at his high school highlights - he threw normal - just want to be fair to the kid

Muncie -- CJ Anderson is not a better evaluator of quarterbacks than Tedford. You keep relying on that same tweet in several different threads. But Kline hasn't proven he can help us win CFB games. He has had many chances to win the job this year, but has been unable to do so.

Regardless, Tedford doesn't play true freshmen QB's. Of all the other QB's on the roster, no one was as good as Maynard. Maynard wasn't great, but everyone else was worse.

Are you on the insider board? I have found a lot of great information on practices and player development there. But I guess you don't need that if you have a single tweet by a decent (at best) former running back and all of your extensive playing experience. :rollinglaugh:

In that case I completely agree.

WHAT?!? Bigelow was OBVIOUSLY better than CJ and Isi. Just ask anyone on this board!

Striking 3 paragraphs to defend a QB who was out if his depth at Cal, let alone the Pac12. I don't know why people keep defending that kid. He and Allen were poison to the team for which Tedford did nothing or could do nothing. I'm just glad neither is on the team.

...and that's entirely on Tedford. It's really a lose-lose for him.

LOSE 1
If he had somebody better: he played Maynard.

LOSE 2
If Maynard was the best: well, Maynard was the best available.

Either way, JT fails.

Well maybe we could be more competetive if they were. Have you seen our team this year?
