Could give a **** what the players want for the next level. TFS doesn't run the full route tree, what about Quinton Patton who was drafted by the niners? he doesn't count? He should have been way higher except he played in the TFS? Give me a break.

If treggs wants to transfer, go for it. He didn't really light it up this season. I don't see him as a shoe-in in the NFL. So, he needs a great Oline and a offense that features him to be good? yea, ok.

Wow if Treggs transfers. Kline is completely understandable but I would think Treggs sticks it out, especially after he tweeted about making sure Cal has a competitive football team.

With or without Treggs, WR is very deep with a lot of talent coming 'on-line' next season. Route running aside, Treggs did himself no favors with his dropped passes, especially on 3rd downs. As a punt returner, he didn't overwhelm either with his performance when punts were inside the 10 yard line.

We surely won't miss him as a punt returner. I can even understand if we believe we can just replace our 2nd best receiver who will be an upperclassmen with some true freshmen or transfer. I'm more in shock because playing for this school was his dream and he's reaffirmed recently that he didn't want to be anywhere but at Cal.

Anyways, its just speculation. The thought of it is crazy to me so I hope like hell it doesn't happen.

Let's hope we are not losing Treggs. I think he has more to offer than what we've seen...

He remained true to Cal and signed with us. If we indeed lose him, that would seemingly indicate that the issues are more than just losing games..

Treggs may not have had the offensive numbers but he's has help keep the team strong and recruiting active... He's been a team player through and through. I would be absolutely shocked if he transfers and extremely saddened

We all would be. I think it would be a disaster if he did. Cal needs Treggs and it's not just for his WR play. He's from the Cal family, bleeds blue and gold, and, as you said, has really helped keep the team together.

These are the people we need to keep. Just like Kline who also bleeds blue and gold. For all the talk about "who cares if X or Y go", we want to keep the people who want to be here.

Who in the lineup today is so damn good???? Gosh, is Dozier headed to LSU? Tagaloa to Bama?? Guys can want to transfer all they want. Will they see the field for talented programs??? People are going on like this is the end of the world. Harsh reality will be coming for players who follow through and transfer. Other teams actually have upperclassmen with talent.

All things that were said about players under Holmoe who then had a winning record with competent coaching. That includes a QB who most said sucked and should be benched and who was a first round draft pick a year later.

Actually, the kids I want playing for us are the kids with high enough expectations and goals that they can't accept this situation.

It's an ambivalent situation. I want the kids who love Cal to be at Cal. But on my football team I want kids who demand success. If the see incompetent coaches and an admin unwilling to change, the latter are going to leave.

It is really easy for people who just have to watch on 12 Saturdays to call these guys names. They spend all year training, spend much of the time in actual physical pain, risk serious injury, and devote themselves emotionally. If I were them, I'd have to wonder if the reward was great enough

Now if they transfer and go somewhere to sit the bench never to be heard from again, would we say Sonny wasn't that bad and they players weren't that talented?

This is more than just about getting playing time.

Give Treggs and Kline a break. If I remember correctly it was Kline and Treggs who kept the 2012 class in tact after the Tosh blow up. They went above and beyond what was required, so show some class. If they feel that Sonny & Co. can't get it done, then why throw away a personal dream just to satisfy some fan base. How many of you wouldn't take your dream job if it was offered to you just because your old boss said don't? Nobody on BI was upset when Fortt chose to come to Cal.

Yeah, and his blocking (in)ability definitely doesn't fit this offense, or any offense for that matter.

How do you know he's kept the team together? Aside from the widely publicized 2012 recruiting saga, which has been overly dramatized IMO, what exactly has he done to keep the team together compared to most other Cal FB players? Who cares about January of 2012. What is he doing now to help the team? Same question can be asked of Kline.

Treggs has potential and I want him to stay, but we do not need to keep him if he has checked out. We don't need him giving 1/2 effort out there if his mind is elsewhere. If he wants to leave, let him.

The posters on this board calling out the players and saying good riddance should be ashamed of themselves. They have given more to this program than all of you. The coaches on the other hand are paid handsomely for their efforts. As the results show, they are incompetent.

Anyone that transfers or decides they want to retire from football has my complete respect and understanding. They deserve better than this d--pshit staff.

Yeah, you know what we need? A coach that has the ability to get his players to buy in. The guys are not checking out on Cal. They are checking out on Dykes. Good coaches reach people. It is part of coaching.

And by the way, all the receivers suck at blocking, so I guess we can let them all go.

So much for supporting the players. What I see is attack the hell out of them in defense of the staff based on rumor.

Cal is not fighting for these guys. Don't see why they should throw years of their lives away for a school who won't support them and a fan base who says the problem is they suck.

You guys should be happy with any transfer. You've been asking these guys to get out all year

Yup. I don't get all the hate for Treggs. The staff has short changed the students. Meanwhile the coaches are making off like bandits while giving us record like worst Big Game loss ever.

I want kids who want to be in our program but any person who wants to be successful won't commit themselves to a loser. This is true of team sports but also real life. Would you join a company you knew would be out of business in 6 months and leave you with nothing to show for it?

All I can say is that with all the rumors about Treggs and Kline, I can recall when being very happy and the two committed to Cal and actively recruited others to come as well. They loved Cal---then some bad stuff happened with the Lupoi business, the Maynard junk, the Tedford firing, the SD hiring and the downward spiral was compounded by injuries, but a horrible downward spiral nonetheless. And now you have two very young men who gave their all to Cal even before they were "Cal" and we are throwing darts at them. Seems to me they gave 100% and then chit happened. Hard for me to be harsh with either.

I seem to recall him, and the other WRs for that matter, blocking a whole lot better when Wes Chandler was the WR coach.

Funny how quickly some on this board will throw players under the bus when it's a coach that's not named Tedford.

I'm not terribly surprised if Treggs feels like the offense won't suit him. There was a definitive shift from the beginning of the season when they stopped having Goff throw deep which is where Treggs got several of his catches and they started favoring Lawler.

Treggs knows better than any of us how bad these coaches are. He believes that Kline should be the starter, and with good reason. The coaches stopped going deep, because Goff has a weak arm. He floats all his deep passes. Treggs belief in Kline was clearly visible in all the preseason interviews.

I'm sure that Kline getting the shaft and Treggs also getting the shaft will probably lead them both to transfer to the same school. only way this doesn't happen is if Goff's injury turns out to be bad enough that Kline becomes the starter. If Goff is badly injured, and Kline doesn't start it will be because SD & TF want Rubenzer to run the offense. Either way, I see Rubenzer starting next year. Goff was nothing more than a marketing ploy, a stop gap measure at best.

I do not know any of these players personally and I have no idea if they have actually considered transferring. These are some names though.
Zach Kline: lack of playing time to a freshman. Will never get to start.
Jason Gibson: looked to be a real talent at LB. Injuries have slowed him down but Dykes moving him to Safety ruined his season. I wouldn't be surprised if he left.
Todd Barr: I have been surprised in his lack of playing time considering how bad our DEs have been. He was highly recruited but didn't play that much this year.
Bryce Treggs: I doubt it. I just heard it a lot on this thread.
There are obviously more guys that are considering transferring and I have no clue if these guys are.

No $h!t. If I was a bearant, I would be p-o'ed. I can't believe folks here calling out the kids on this team.

It is these lame-o coaches who have clearly not prepared the team to play or put them in position to succeed for 13 weeks who we should be pissed at.

Sonny made his bed hiring these suck-a$$ assistants, especially on D. The kids are the ones who have had to suffer most through all of this.

From a talent standpoint, I really doubt we bring in more talented kids than JT's staff did. Nothing from last years class makes me think we will be more fortunate. I will be grateful for whoever signs to play for us, but I am under no belief that there are top-flight HS or JC kids who want nothing better than to play for a team that was easily hands down worst in the Pac and possible in all of FBS and looking at optimistically 3 wins next year.

If kids don't want to play FB under those circumstances, where they can be pretty assured that the coaching staff isn't going to put them in a position to succeed, I can't blame any of them from wanting to transfer.
