And Dykes won't be after one year, and since he has five year deal.

I found myself in the Keep Tedford camp right to the bitter end, which seemed to be a minority position. Now, I'm in the Keep Dykes camp. I'm just wondering where other people are. It seems to me that a lot of folks are pretty trigger happy, but maybe the ones calling for Dykes head wanted to keep JT and maybe the ones screaming for Tedford's scalp are now the patient ones. I know our preferences don't amount to a hill of beans.

Fire them both, but not with the same sentiment.

Despite JT's crash and burn, the guy gave us some good years. He just seemed to lose a step over time and all the tinkering in the world couldn't put it back together again. He also faced some unique challenges (tree sitters, bad facilities) but still found a way to win. He crashed towards the end but if you don't look at his last 3 years, he always had a winning season (along with 2 10 win seasons). CFB is a tough game and burning out after 10 years isn't something to be ashamed of.

Sonny, on the other hand, is just out of his league. Personality-wise, I really liked him at the beginning of the season. However, as his words became more and more discordant with the product on the field, I became disillusioned with what he was peddling and felt that the guy is a better talker than a producer. 'All hat, no cattle' (if you will).

I'm in the give the guy a chance camp. It's funny but the people that I talk with who have no axe to grind one way or another with the Cal football program uniformly say that it's ridiculous to talk about firing a guy after one year. I certainly agree.

+1. - I know I will get heat for this but, I say give Buh one more year. With experience and health I think that our defense will be much better in 2014.

Give Dykes the 3 preseason games when everybody is healthy, but without making any changes among his staff, 2014 is at best a 3 win season if that. This would give Dykes a two year record of 4-20 which IMO is not enough for him to keep his job. Cal then starts from scratch with a program that has taken more hits during the Dykes era. Not sure what to do at this point but make a sacrifice to the football gods and hope they hear me.

If u fire this staff and bring in GOD next year this program will be lucky to win 5 games. Give them their 3 yrs and then if it doesn't work out hire a new staff but make sure it is a great staff- what else can u do?

I keep them both and pray we don't have a Teevens on our hands. Also recruit non injury plagued players. Some of our recruits always seem to come to Cal having injury issues in High School that we take a chance on that no other school does and it seems to hurt us.

Why would anyone have an axe to grind with a first year staff? He came in with a clean slate and hardly anyone judged him beforehand. He's being judged on his performance (which is completely fair) and not some grudge.

I think he means somebody who is not letting personal emotions factor in on their decision-making.

Have to give Dykes at least another year at minimum, maybe two. There has been a crazy rash of injuries yet SD and staff have shown red flags of incompetence. As a Cal fan this is where the conflict comes - do you support Dykes or scream to have him fired.

Since Dykes is here next season my attitude is hope he turns things around and wins. As a Cal fan this is the easiest, quickest solution that has the best interest of most at hand. I'm not going to hold a grudge because it's not worth it and maybe some fun will start happening...but after this truly dismal season (worst ever) clear improvement and wins (4-5) have to happen or SD has to go.

In other words, give Dykes the benefit of the doubt on injuries this season but hold him totally accountable next season. If he meets expectations, great. If not, let him go.

I'm in the "Lets stop embarrassing ourselves, Sandy. It's embarrassing." camp. And the "whatever it takes" camp as well.
