Hey guys, I'm back on your lawn. A UofA editor just published that Tags is planning to transfer there.

I'm guessing he doesn't have a release so will have to go some roundabout way.

"Former Cal OL Freddie Tagaloa intends to transfer to Arizona. Still has to do waiver, but there doesn't seem to be a concern" - Jason Scheer

Freddie may develop quicker feet in the desert air.

Seriously. Get the stretcher warmed up and ready cause Freedie is about as stout as a pussycat when it comes to outside speed rushes. I pray your QB in 2015 is mobile to his strong side.

Gonna go hang out with Dave Wilkerson?

Oh, and Coach M!

Run oriented O will prob be a better fit for the big man! Wish big Fred all the best! Great kid!

I guess the UofA scout team had some holes to fill.

As long as AZ doesn't pass the ball, the Wildcats will be fine. (and if the 'Cats do pass, just make sure he is playing guard rather than tackle).

Coach M is Arizona's OLine coach so it's probably not a surprise that Tags is turning to him.

Actually heard we may have released him to AZ since we won't play them 2015 or 2016. If not then he will have to pay his own way the first year

There was just an article saying that Dykes (as is common practice) won't give waivers to players transferring to other Pac-12 schools. Which means he'd have to either go to JC for a year or sit out 2.

Wonder why all our players transferring are so dead set on Pac-12 schools.

EDIT: Coach M at Arizona would certainly make sense.

Wow. What a way to dump on him guys. What did he do to deserve this?

I wish him the best of luck. I can easily see him doing much better in a different system with different coaching staff.

He will have to pay his own way for one year at Az and can play after sitting out one as well. This is true WHETHER OR NOT dykes sings off on a p12 transfer. Pac 12 rules stipulate no financial aid from a p12 school within 1 year of leaving a p12 schools, and they way it's worded, I'm not sure Kline's <1 year stay at a JC would allow him to receive aid next fall.

The two year notion is completely false. Dykes isn't screwing any of these guys over too badly by not signing off.

best of luck to tags - i hope this isn't dumping on him, but our line play sucked, so I guess we'll find out in the next few years whether it was the coaching or the players or both. Coach M seems to do well with power running schemes... not the technique used by our new staff.

He did not fit in the Bear Raid system. And he needs to put on weight/muscle. I could see in a Coach M zone blocking system Tags doing okay as a RT (assuming right handed QB). He had a horrible year last year, after a promising frosh year.

Agree on your first part of fitting into the fast paced system. As far as muscle mass, the dude was prob one of the strongest lineman on the team. Not too much fat if any on the kid. I think big Fred will be ok!

Hmmm. Looked pretty good as frosh then not so good as soph. Maybe having an NFL-quality OL coach rather than a JC quality OL coach made a difference.

Agreed, ff. Im not getting any of the bashing either. Good luck Tags. Hope the change of scenery does you well.

He wasn't any better as a freshman. Coach M just seemed to have a special affinity for him - hence is migration to UofA. He will run out of gas quickly in that AZ heat. 350 lbs is a lot of weight to move around. He needs to drop 50 lbs and then work on speed and footwork. Maybe he can do that at UofA, but just being huge doesn't make one a good OT.

I think its interesting that the guys our coaches see as not part of making a 1-11 team better are wanted by other, better conference teams. Could just be a fit issue.

Not a completely fair statement. We don't know all the details of Wilkerson leaving. It is possible that he did not want to be here and the coaches in fact wanted him. Tons of possibilities...

Sorry this is simply not true. He only received playing time towards the end of his freshman season, and when he did play he was consistently getting beat off the edge.

How many of the players brought in under the Tedford regime do you think Dykes wants to keep?.

If our players were so bad, I wonder why other schools would encourage them to come with potential scholarships when they are eligible?

I think "fit" has a great deal to do with Kline's situation. And the same thing may be true with UA. It will be interesting to track the progress of these transfers and how they do will certainly serve as fodder for both sides of the ongoing debate about Kline and Dykes. I predict that Kline has the best chance to succeed. I doubt we hear much from Tagaloa although I'm sure he will become a starter at some point.

As for Wilkerson, I'm a big fan. I think he's as good as his health allows, kinda like Scarlett, Jalil and Forbes. We'll have to see but he has NFL ability if he's healthy.

Answer1: PAC-12 scouting and scouting services are as delusional as Tedford in evaluating talent.

Answer2: because the players are good enough to play in the PAC-12.

Hmmm.
