Does that mean he views the transfers as quitters?

That he's graduating after a tough academic stretch is great news.

Didn't a few people say that Tosh was showing recruits Cal players' transcripts to show that Cal was too hard for them? I think the rumor was that it was Moala's transcript.

If there is any truth to such, and proof especially, recruits confirming that they were shown another players transcripts, that is clearly wrong. Without permission, which I doubt would the case, that is a serious matter; at least with what little I know of the subject in relation to Employment Law...

That aside - Kudos to Moala!

Moala maintained his good spirits during a trying junior season. He said he never considered transferring like others from Cal in the wake of a one-win season. He said he enjoys the student life, his studies, and he insists the Bears' football fortunes will improve. And he said his family taught him to remain loyal to commitment, that quitting is never an option.

That's unacceptable. I was told by people who know people who have insider connections with the team that everyone is revolting and wants to transfer

LOL
+1, sarcasm included.

Shouldn't Moala have been loyal to Kline and transferred as well?
After all Kline was messed over and the world can't move on until justice is done!!

Moala and Coleman were rocks all season - probably the only place where opponents couldn't run. Our contain on outside runs was haphazard and no need to discuss our pass defense.

Coleman will be gone but if Moose is healthy than I feel fine about next year's interior d-line.

It's also great to hear that Moala is doing well in school and on his way to graduating with a Cal Degree!

Another shining example of what it means to be a student-athlete at Cal.

I'm proud he's a Bear.

BTW, does anyone know anything about his siblings? Is Cal interested in them? Should Cal be interested in them?

I'm still upset that Mychal Kendrick's little brother went to UCLA (especially since he's proven to be a stud there), let alone Syd'Quan's little brother went to UW.

You have evidence? That wouldn't be just an NCAA violation, it could involve prison time. Privacy law is pretty strict on such shenanigans, I suspect.

Nice article about Moala. Hope he tears it up next year. I'd hate to see the food bill in the Moala household.

I've been hoping moala woukd turn the corner for the last three years. Knowing he has seen it through and will get his degree brings an mf'in tear to my eye.

Definitely not, but I know I read it on here. It's probably anecdotal, because the coaching staff has said that "some school up north" was using academics to negatively recruit against Cal, so you know they're hearing some things from recruits. Regardless, the point is more that this kind of development is really positive in relation to the kinds of things other programs are saying about us.

Doubtful....I heard through one of the nefarious secret sources some have here that at this very moment, Sonny is planting an IED (improvised explosive device for those not paying attention) at Times Square to terrorize the nation...he has moved on from the small potatoes known as Cal football.....

My confirmed source (Vei Moala) said he is happy and likes his life at Cal. That's probably more than most mysterious BI insiders can actually claim about the Calpocalypse.

Not true. I've had three bearents and players msg me and tell me the locker room after the big game was like a scene from Lord of the flies.

Yes, but you have to admit, Sonny's training in destroying our program from the ground up was THE crucial set-up for his terrorist activities! His wife seems so nice: she must be running him...

Sandy will be so proud that Vei will earn his degree.

Joe Davidson of the Sac Bee does a great job covering HS football & hoops. He's known the Moala family for years. From what I've read Moala's oldest brother is not Pac12 talent. We'll see how the younger brother progresses.

More Siblings: let's remember that Syd' Quan's brother was ALL Cal up until the last minute with TL's move to UW. As we all know, that recruiting class could have been Top 5 had all the verbal commits signed a LOI. Thompson, Armstead, Adams to name a few. Those 3 all started this season as true Sophs.

The NFL is what our most talented players want..when will you forget about the degree stuff?? It doesn't surprise me even knowing that I feel Moala would benefit greatly from another year playing for the Bears. He doesn't care and wants the gold..easy decision just like we are seeing across the nation on the other teams.
NYCGOBEARS
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Moala's success or failure in the NFL should be irrelevant to how we feel about him. Ultimately, he's making a personal decision and will have to deal with the consequences. I wish him well. He did his best while he was at Cal.

We don't disparage Aaron Rodgers for leaving early and we shouldn't Tiny either.
