Not against a guy who clearly has a totally different worldview, no. So hey, it's cool, think that I'm a big jerk if you want. That's fine.

You are concluding I have a different worldview than you because I think you should not refer to a football player's belief as stupid just because you do not agree with his belief? It is once again difficult to follow your logic. I do not think you are a jerk based on your posts in this thread. I think that your approach of dismissing the belief of another person as stupid just because you do not agree with that belief is a close-minded and uneducated approach. To be perfectly frank, I would expect a more thoughtful approach from a Cal grad.

He would not get on the field because of grades. Might as wish for Jack Del Rio to go back in time an join the Golden Bears.

Really? Didn't we trot out Maynard for two years? Didn't Winston get into Stanford? Don't tell me Winston is even worse student than Maynard.

Well, there's a difference between thanking God for the gifts he's bestowed upon you and claiming that he was responsible for winning a football game. The former doesn't bother me much, but I think Winston went beyond that in his interview.

I should also say here that obviously none of this has to do with their abilities as players. Obviously Winston played brilliantly on that last drive to lead FSU to the win last night. But sometimes when you stick a microphone in front of these guys, you realize that they aren't good at everything.

He's 20 years old! He's talking to millions! Give him a break. Oh, and what a horrible thing to be spiritual. The kid has gone through a great deal of scrutiny and has handled it pretty well. I know people who know him and he's a great kid.

Too many people here have a thinly-veiled secular bent and will attack, sometimes in a passive-aggressive fashion, whenever they have a chance. I guess that's from the not so thinly-veiled message that is hammered at our universities across the country.

That's probably not much of a comparison to make. It's like noting that your chance of winning the Powerball doubles when you buy two lotto tickets instead of one.
