Goodness was it less than 2 years ago that we were poised for a Top 5 class, with the SAHPC built and CMS almost finished. Boy what a false peak that was. What an implosion.

We still have a bunch of recruits visiting soon. i expect a few more commits.

were scrambling, theres some good players interested but if they go elsewhere we could be in trouble

The last I looked, average star-wise, it seems that we are not doing all that well compared to our previous 10 cycles. SD would have us believe that we will pull a top 3 class this year, so stars are clearly not a big factor for him or this staff...

Not so keen about the OC doing a 3 day seminar or clinic a couple weeks before NLI (02/05/14).

Maybe coaches of recruits have been invited to the seminar LOL.

There was some hope that if the System was wildly successful, these might somehow turn into a positive for Cal...

we are after quite a few florida players actually. hopefully sonnys southern connections come through

By the number of players who will be transferring out---especially to schools in our conference. Also, we need to get some of the top players right here in the Bay Area who have not committed yet.

Because we need a "quick fix", I think we need a few more community college players who qualify--- especially OL, DL and DBs.

It would also be nice if more PAC 12 players from other schools would forgo their eligibility and enter the NFL draft this year. The QBs at UCLA and OSU would have been great, but they are returning for another collegiate season.

Just keep on bad mouthing the OC.

IF they land Kolton Miller, Tee Shepard, a Quality Juco OT or two dig up a decent HS CB and land one of the highly rated LBs in play then the class is probably a win vis a vis the absolutely retched season we had. IF the staff pulls this off then they will have filled the "needs" really well. However the class will probably be one of our lowest rated classes in recent years and will land us in wazzu range in the rankings.

Part of the lower ranking is Juco ratings aren't scouted and reviewed as much or until later after they commit. We have 4 two star players with 3 of them being Juco players. Of those 3 I would bet at least two move up to at least a 3 star. I would be shocked if our other 2 star Bennett didn't get bumped also. Throw in that it is a shame that Watson and Rubenzer are not 4 stars yet and Devante Downs was a 4 star until getting hurt and missing all year (standard to drop said players like Bigelow did)

Watson and rbz should definitely be 4*
The need for juco guys definitely hurts class "rankings"
IF the staff holds onto what we got and fills the LB and OT and CB holes in this last month it'll turn out ok over all. But it sorta hurts to think of what might of been with a pulse during the season. (Wadood Mixon etc)

Exactly I mean... JC DB/LB Sam Atoe may be our best recruit. That guy is a beast and is a huge get for us... 2 star?

It does hurt to lose Wadood and Mixon (I am still holding out hope)... Even a 4 win season probably shows improvement enough for us to get them. Still though we will bring in quite a few more players before we are done... a 4 star or two and a 2 star or two. Expect 6-10 more players with maybe 2+ more JC players. Because of the JC players our class average will be low imo.

For rankings, all that really matters is the 5 star guys. Those guys tend to work out at a higher rate than the rest.

As for 3 or 4 stars? They are completely interchangeable as far as I'm concerned.

Top 3 baby. Dykes said so.

No, it will continue to suck.

I'm cool with late signees. Anybody notice the academic and game slide JT had coincided with recruiting kids Earlier? Without those xtra semesters of academics and HS games it gets harder to predict success....stars or no stars.

Don't you guys know? All our lower rated guys are either diamonds in the rough, under the radar, or horribly underrated and Scout hates CAL!

All fine graduates of BI Reeducation Camp are well aware of this.

Enwere is easily a 4 star

well well no coaches put in place/announced but the staff is grinding

if this class stays in tact ... i will have higher hopes for 2014 and beyond a lot of talent ... gotta get those kids that have great ambition and work ethic layered in PRIDE

? top 3 recruiting class in PAC12? ill settle for top 6 and get guys in that are hungry with lights on
