If you are winning, then those southern characteristics are probably deemed charming. If you are losing then it's probably deemed hickish.

Tosh is potentially facing a "show cause" penalty for the stuff at Washington. Add that to the way he left the program and I'd be shocked if he returned to Cal any time soon.

The point I'm making is that many are not able to do this -- it's selective outrage. I'm not arguing one action is worse than the other, I'm saying this guys exposed himself as a greasy SOB in 2010, but nobody cared. As long as he continued to hail in top recruits, all hail Tosh. I'm more embarrassed being associated with a university that ordered fake injuries than being shunned by a greasy degenerate for more loot. Nobody else cares or remembers that Tosh burned us, but they will remember fake injuries and a fan base that wasn't all that bothered by it.

Because that's what this football program needs at this point in time, Tosh Lupoi.
