Former Cal LB coach and recruiting coordinator Kenwick Thompson just hired by Derek Mason at Vandy. Mason and Shaw tried to hire Thompson away from Cal a couple years ago but we re-upped and he stayed. Mason now gets him at Vandy. Met him a couple times and he seemed like a cool guy...hope he finds success at Vandy.

I always thought Gould and Thompson were Cal's two best position coaches. Wish him all the luck in the world. He is one of the good guys.

Good spot for Thompson. He always did well in recruiting, and should be able to do the same at Vandy.

Wasn't Thompson DC at SJSU? Maybe they didn't like his defenses, but Thompson was a great position coach.

That sounds vaguely familiar.

I was shocked that Sonny didn't retain Thompson who did a great job at Cal as recruiting coordinator as well as LB coach. I wish him well.
