I just started charting the Cincinnati-Louisville game from last season, and I'll have a detailed post on this within the week. 5 plays in it does look like a base 4-3 with all the usual fronts (under, over, 4-2 nickel), and at least in this one game Cover-4 seems to be the base. Schematically so far it doesn't look that different from what we did last year (but I am only 5 plays in), but don't let that discourage you. Being a coordinator isn't so much about the tools you have at your disposal, but about how and when you use them. What I'll be watching for is adjustments. How does he react when a specific play is causing problems? How long does it take for him to make a change, and are his changes effective? That sort of stuff.
