Whatever the list is, add Lynch to it.

Aaron Rodgers and Craig Morton have thrown for TDs in the Super Bowl, but not sure about scoring.

Well I think that should count. Anyone else?

Not sure, I think this might actually be the first TD scored by a Cal player in the SB.

Doug Brien kicked 7 extra points in Super Bowl XXIX for the Niners. That's kind of like scoring a TD.

Don't forget about Ray Wersching in SB XVI & SB XIX

I checked -- Rose did not score in either of the Super Bowls he played in.

According to the best authority I know, the Albany Patch, the list consists of Marshawn Lynch.

Another question: Which Cal team has produced the most Super Bowl champions?

2004 has:

Matt Giordano
Aaron Rodgers
Marshawn Lynch
Brendon Mebane

I would like to point out those guys were not also-rans...

Besides the MVP, Lynch is basically Seattle's offense (without the effort to stop him, that O is pretty average). Mebane is always in a sweaty threeway, and Giordano make the opening tackle and also chased down the "fastest guy ever" or whatever they were crowing about... his pizza is also great.

CJ Anderson for the Broncos.

We've done surprisingly well in this category, I think they're talking about us here:

Had the Lions made this superbowl, we'd most likely be in 1st place...

Also, had Mahones had a better game, we'd be in 5th place.

Marshawn has two TDs, CJ has one, are the rest kicker points?

Kickers:
7 pts for Doug Brien, all xps in SB 29
6 pts for Ryan Longwell in SB 32

Must be missing some, because passing TDs are not included for the passer in that graphic above.

Jim Breech played in 2 Super Bowls for the Bengals with 13 points and Ray Wersching played in 2 Super Bowls for the 49ers with 22 points. They actually played against each other in the 1982 Super Bowl.

That adds to the above to total 66.

Right, that's 66 total. 48 from kickers.

And a lot of missed opportunities for Cal QBs in Super Bowls, though Rodgers had 3 passing TDs in SB 45 and Morton had one in SB 5. There were three other Cal QBs who started SBs without passing or running for a TD in that game: Kapp, Morton (in SB 12), and Goff.

Shane Vereen had a monster super bowl and led the Patriots with 11 receptions.....but 0 touchdowns.

Yes, Ferragamo is frequently counted as a Cal QB.

Buf officially, the school you are drafted from is part of the official record. They don't double count.Jalen Hurts is officially an Oklahoma QB. Troy Aikman is a UCLA QB, etc.

It is a dang shame that Touchdown Tony Gonzalez and Chuck Muncie never got the chance to score in a Super Bowl.

Boy I wish Marshawn would have been handed the ball for that third one he would have gotten to win the game.

Ray Wershing had 5 field goals and a bunch of extra points in super bowls. We went to Cal and then played for the 49ers in their first two superbowls. He has 4 field goals in the first one which I think is still a record.

For a short while, We/Cal had the votes for another Super Bowl MVP too in SB XXIII. Breech scored 10 of the Bengals 16 points including the late game kick that nearly won it. But Joe had a enough time to spot John Candy and then dive downfield to win the game. The sportswriters voted again and Rice won the MVP.

Side bar, my Mom played softball for years with the wives of several former Cal players (Matteye was there too!!) including Breech's first wife Polly, and Jimmy would often be there to help out at practice and cheer at games. Fun times. They were neighbors of ours for a few years til he relocated to Cincy after first season being cut by the Lions, then next year playing one season for the Raiders, then Al cut him for Chris Barr, who was from the Bengals. So, Jimmy went on to spend the rest of his career with the Bengals. It also meant that me and my brothers now had rooting interest in Jimmy winning the Super Bowl. It would have been pretty fun.

One of Breech's sons writes for CBS Sportsline, John Breech, and he written a few different articles about his beloved Bengals and his Dad's role. Here's one:

John Breech knows all of his Dad's stats and how Jim almost won Super Bowl MVP
