at this point, the blame is no longer on SD or Sandy. it's on Buh. the sooner he walks away, the faster we can wrap it all up.

Buh now has a very demanding and experienced boss, a real DC.
If he can coach the LBs effectively, great.
If not, his boss will have conversations with him in which his role will be to listen, not talk.

Buh isn't going to leave. Why would he leave the highest paying job he'll ever have.
beeasyed;842284890 said:
lol, Buh staying or not will have little to do with how effective he is at coaching LBs.

Is there anything in the WORLD about which you cannot post an almost incoherent negative response.
Buh's performance will be judged by his boss, not by a snot-dripping, snivelly BI poster like you.
I hope Buh does well and that the LBs are effective in the D schemes.

IMO, both Cal and Buh are posturing right now. We dont want him here and he doesnt want to be here, but theyre looking for the right terms in which he leaves because he also doesnt want to give up the money that he is due. Id be very surprised if he is one of our coaches by the time spring ball comes around

What do you mean "wait another year or two"? I thought we watched the football program unravel last year. Is there room for further unraveling?

how was my response negative? Buh, in fact, will likely not stay or walk based on how competent he is at coaching LBs. (and i actually think he's a decent LB coach) there are other things going on that are of greater importance.
if for some reason you can't comprehend anything i post b/c you imagine me to be a "snot-dropping, snivelly" poster, then you can read what GB725 posted below, saying something similar.
once again, SonofCal: Buh leaving or staying at this point has little to do with how competent he is at coaching LBs.

We really need to slow down with the unnecessary roughness in our responses. I didn't think your original post was negative, and I can't understand why your post would warrant such a harsh response.

Having said all that, I think we should show some respect to Buh...maybe not as a DC but as a fellow human being. He has a family to support and has people who depend on him. Although I want what is best for Cal football, I am not going to take any joy in what Buh has to go through right now, and I wish him only the best away from Cal football.

There's always more room for unraveling. The past several years should have taught that to all cal fans.
Golden One;842285177 said:
True. I guess we could go 0-12, have open warfare in the locker room, fist fights among the coaching staff, and criminal charges filed against Sandy Barbour. This is Cal, after all.

If that's what it takes to have an AD at Cal whose background is revenue sports (Men's FB or BB), I'm all for it. I mean, when has Cal had such an AD? Cal has been primarily an Olympic, individual and women's sports school. IOWs, everything but men's revenue sports. I think there's a reason for that.

Using GB725 "imagining" something to support your position is positively pathetic.

If we read between the lines on what Coach Dykes stated about Buh recently, it seems clear that we shouldn't expect Buh back next season.
He was less definitive about the future of Andy Buh, demoted last month from his role as defensive coordinator after the Bears' 1-11 season. Two weeks ago, Dykes hired Art Kaufman to handle that assignment.
Asked specifically whether he expects Buh will be on the staff by next fall, Dykes said, "We'll see. I don't know. We'll see."

why don't you ask someone who's more connected to the program to confirm it then? maybe MB would like to chime in and confirm your opinion that Buh's job is ONLY contingent on what Kaufman thinks of his LB coaching abilities?
what is actually pathetic is your insults as replies to most of my posts these days. nobody seems to have a problem with my posts except you, and mizery--well with that handle, go figure.. (disappointing that MB has suddenly been so quiet about persistent character attacks)
as does everyone on this board. as everyone wishes every coach and staff in the history of Cal football to do well. fantastic conclusion.
