Beyond the money, I'm just sad/embarrassed that we hired a coach that had already been demoted/forced out at another P12 school in the first place. SMH.

He'll be the highest paid nobody in any AD. I'm sure they expect him to start looking for new opportunities and leave on his own volition. He'll be bored out of his mind and it'll be a ding on his football coaching career if he sticks around for long.

The most he will get anywhere is as a position coach. That will be his ceiling unless he decides to go down a level where he might get a shot as a coordinator, but not sure why he would do that. I suspect he could get hired again as a position coach somewhere even if he spends a year with an admin job. I hope we can make reasonable use of him there. I'm glad Dykes made this move if for no other reason it probably would have been an unworkable dynamic to have him continue on staff after being demoted.

at Furd, doing a lot of football administrative stuff, giving speeches, etc. I don't think its like Vic on the Shield where he is in a (FBI) cubicle with nothing to do.

Come out to Utah. Until Brian Johnson left two weeks ago to Mississippi State, Utah no had four coaches on staff that were once at least the co-offensive coordinator for the Utes.

He made a bad hire. We complained. He assessed at the end of the season. He removed him and hired someone who may be ten times better. Now let's go root for the BeArs.

We need a DL coach who knows how to coach the DL to get off of blocks and doesn't spend part of the time coaching LBs. I have zero confidence in the fact that the DL coach we kept was the guy in charge of our DEs last year. Those guys looked like they were super glued onto the OTs.

Uh, this should be. Guys step away from the computers and come back to a slightly happier place. When there is one wrong decision and one right decision, making the right decision is a good thing. I'm no sonny-shine pumper but c'mon...

I guess I am one of the few people who thought his rsum looked pretty good when he was hired. His defenses at Nevada did pretty well, and his LB's at Wisconsin knew what they were supposed to do. Although he got let go at the Furd, the Furd was at least on the rise while he was there. When things turn out wrong, the best you can do is admit your mistake and hire somebody better. But now the stakes for Sonny are very high in this second year. No further margin for error.

I get Sonny wanted up and coming guys, and Buh fit that. His resume was thin to say the least for such an important hire. He maybe got let go at Furd and Neveda after a few short years as a co-coordinator (with Ron Lynn - so you know who really was the DC) and Neveda with mixed results). I don't think anyone has questioned his ability as a position coach.

If you want to see what a resume for a DC should look like, look at Kaufman. There is disinformation on this board (as opposed to the insider board), that you shouldn't make judgements as to what is happening with Buh and why, and who the LB coach will be.
