Kudos for the high production values. The spot is very slick. That said, cutting in some current NFL players and non-Cal Bears was a little odd. Yes, I understand it's a connection to Air Raid WRs but that seems like an over-sell to me...as in we didn't have a strong enough argument on our own so we found some stuff and shoved it in there.

Any way the production values are great and the Cal Athletic Dept PR seems to be getting better. I guess you sell what you have and Cal does have good WRs. Still, I'll take winning over good PR.

I think that if there were 2 version of this made, one made specifically for recruiting pitches shown privately should promote NFL players that have played under SD.

the public one, however, should be Cal-only guys, imo.

either way, not a bad vid! i hope they do more S&C clips.

I love the video but we need one of these for the DL, OL and DB units. That's where we are hurting in recruiting. We have plenty of these guys in the pros.

I know they aren't "his guys" but would it hurt to show DJax, Keenan Allen, Vereen or A Rodg and Beastmode, etc.? Agree that they might have fitted it somewhere or re-cut something. Those guys would get a recruit's attention.

Anyone know if it's legal in NCAA terms to have former players to do promos, actually talk on video about Cal?

agreed...to a fan who's not really learned in the history of the air raid and where Dykes' has coached...the placement of these WR's would be completely puzzling. It would've made more sense to put their colleges under their names, rather than their NFL teams.

My only thought with this is that it was made clear last year that we wanted players who were coming to Cal to win the Rose Bowl and not to get to the Pros - now here we are enticing recruits with the Pros just like Tedford - i like the video a ton - wishing coach Dykes well this year!

If we were going to use NFL players, I'd rather see a vid w/ Rodgers, DJax, Marshawn, Jahvid, Tony Gonzalez, et al. We've heard recruits say how DJax or Jahvid were their favorite players and how that's piqued their interest in Cal. I've not yet heard, I love Wes Welker, and this guy coached him a long time ago, and now he's at Cal.

its like confusion of brands or mixing up of them air raid nfl wrs and cal wrs present and past ... could have used sonny or tony talking about the system etc its production of players in the league as well as in moving in on the x' and o's
