Not so fast. A more reputable source says the first team he will be visiting will be the Skins.

I have a signed Cal DJax helmet, and I like rooting for him. If he has any character issues, going to the Raiders isn't going to help. I always thought he had bad advisors in his camp, like his dad and family. Hope he gets some good advise from his agent.

The perception of the two Bay Area NFL franchises on this board is a parody of itself.
Here, the Raiders are the criminal element. They are a bad franchise run by bad people, and their fans made the money to pay for their tickets via criminal activity of the lowest, most violent order.
The 49ers are the elitist franchise. Their fans are hard working, ethical and philanthropic captains of industry. They don't tailgate, they have catered affairs in private tents or in condominiums with a view of the field between the 20 yard lines.
Desean to the 49ers would be a genius move here, because it would make Jackson a better person automatically. DJax to the Raiders, horrible move for him because the Raiders are horrible people.

In full disclosure, I'm a Niners fan, but this is crap. The Niners would be a defensible decision because he would been a clear boon to and fulfill an obvious need for a championship-caliber team (albeit one with a rapidly closing window). Joining the Raiders would be questionable because they have had only fleeting encounters with even mediocrity post-Gruden, because they have no discernible organizational continuity, and because Mark Davis. Irrespective of your tribal loyalties, the Niners status as the better-run organization is unquestionable at this point in time.

For similar reasons, I hope reports that he's considering the Redskins are also wrong. Perennial dysfunction, lack of success on the field, etc. Wherever he ends up, I hope it's a competitive situation.

Except on Sundays and some Monday nights and Thursday nights.

Which, in the end, is all that really matters on the NFL.

We should support one of our own, especially one who has stayed out of trouble and who helped take our program to heights we haven't seen since. He singlehandedly broke Oregon and Tennessee with spectacular punt return TDs. We have never had a game breaking talent like him with the ball in his hands before or since.

What's the motivation to bash him?
