#Cal has been out to check out QB Sheriron Jones.

Why do they make you laugh?
All Pac 12 schhools can get some special admits (including Cal). But at Cal you have to study to get through once you get here, in classes with the elite students in the U.S. There is no easy road. It is the difference and why Cal has APR problems when other schools can play hide and seek.

Cal isn't going to take illiterate guys like Jadeveon Clowney or Nick Fairley. However, they have taken players in the past who managed to remain eligible, likely due to excellent tutoring and putting in some effort. Cal is a terrific school, but an average student can make it through a less demanding major with enough help.

If only enough actually had so that our APR and GSR scores weren't embarrassingly low.

Bad and average aren't really good enough to cut it here, as our own history has shown (well beyond our current academic state). Some will definitely make it, but enough will fail and f*ck it all up.

To be fair, I was unaware of the fact that the ASU honors college competes with those higher education schools.

Tell me which "less demanding major", and then let's make a comparison to how you can do it at other places.
That's the difference. There will always be easy classes at every school, but sooner or later you've got to declare and matriculate through a major.

You must mean "higher" such as Oaksterdam U, UO Phoenix, DeVry, Roadmaster, and the Bryman schools.

kids do change their commitments more and more these days. Even when they openly declare for a school, nothing is a given until they sign a LOI or scholarship agreement.
