How long do you want to ignore this user?
It's been a long time, but many moons ago I created a couple email address with these domains:

@calalum.org
@alum.calberkeley.org

I had forwarding set-up, at least with one of them, I believe for "@calalum.org" to my yahoo account. Are these domains still active? If there are others, please do share...

Thanks in advance.

I am not sure if those are still active. I do know that, as an alumnus, they now allow you an @cal.berkeley.edu email address. Check it out here:

http://cal.berkeley.edu/

I have it forwarding to my gmail.

That helped, thank you.

It's through the @cal portal where one can see what's available and forwarding options. For those interested, here's what I see:

Choose email forwarding domains

Here are the addresses available to you. These are optional.

Unchecked addresses will bounce and be treated as undeliverable email. You can always come back and make changes.

UC Berkeley
xxx89@cal.berkeley.edu

California Alumni Association
xxx89@alum.berkeley.edu

xxx89@alum.calberkeley.org

xxx89@calalum.org

College of Letters and Science
xxx89@alumni.ls.berkeley.edu
++++++

Will try mail forwarding to all now...

Thanks again GMP.

I signed up for 5 different berkeley.edu forwarding addresses many, many years ago. They all still work....including cal.berkeley.edu

Thanks hanky1. I had set these up for forwarding, at least the oldest of one/s 12 or so years ago. I think I just got most set-up to forward (still testing)...

I assume of the 5 you have, it includes the 4 above, plus for the college, like for me Letters and Science?

Yeah those 4 you have plus 1 specifically for my college. I probably signed up the same time you did...10-13 years ago. I've used all 5 forwarding addresses for various reasons the past 12 years and have never had a problem with any of them.

If you were a recent student, you can even get a re-direct with just the berkeley.edu domain (I have multiple).

Thanks hanky1. I / we had to do something a few years ago with the @Cal change, and I possibly did not do so or complete that request. Either way, I just confirmed that all 5 work again! Actually, I'm not using the L&S one for forwarding...

Feels good getting this all squared-away, finally.

It would be cool if they gave you an actual email address..

It looks like it is possible, or at least that was the intent. I'm unable to add a recipient though... That said, I prefer forwarding to one central location.

Thanks for the "heads up".
I now have the @cal.berkekely.edu domain forwarding my emails. :cheer

BTW I had a very tough time choosing between
@cal.berkeley.edu
@calalum
and @calberkeleyalum.

I hate the reference "Cal Berkeley"
But "calalum" sounds too much like "CalaFoods"- well known food store in S.F.
And "calberkeleyalum" was no better than "cal.berkeley.edu"
So I decided on the term that has "Cal." as its own word. Then followed by "berkeley.edu".

If it makes your choice easier, Cala Foods is long gone - it left in late 2011 and was replaced by Trader Joe's in 2012. I lived a couple blocks away, until recently.

For those seeking employment, particularly beyond the Bay Area and CA, "Berkeley" has clout, serious clout actually. Cal, not so much...
