Let's see, when I was at Cal, I was one, too busy following my hometown Texas Longhorns during the Vince young/McCoy years, two, I didn't go to Cal to major in football fandom, three, Cal's team wasn't that good and let's face it, I've followed Texas since 1995, and I'm not giving that up, four, I didn't even know Cal was Berkeley when I applied, five, I was too busy to spend an entire day at the stadium, six, TV was much better with all the replays and such, going to the stadium was just a pain as you had to be harassed by all the ushers, and you couldn't sit down in the student section, seven, only reason I'd go to a live game is to watch the refs, and yes, I do ref football, so I have a keen interest in the refs, which TV does a poor job of showing, eight, in high school, I worked as a student assistant on the team, so I was more used to being on the sideline than in the crowd, nine, I'm not crazy enough to pay out of state tuition to go somewhere to cheer on a football team, when I could pay in state and cheer on a much better football team.....

Perhaps the next time I'll be back at Cal for a football game will be in 2016 when Texas comes to Cal, and I'll be wearing the burnt orange and sitting in the visitors section........sure I went to Cal, but that has nothing to do with who I regard as my favorite football team.
