Hard to fathom saying about an $C player, but that guy is a stud. Selfless act and glad to hear his nephew is OK.

A captain, no less. Good move. Hope he recovers quickly.

Yea, no other way to say it other than this guy is awesome.

Putting his career on the line to save someone else. Kudos.

The story didn't make much sense, if he was in the second story of an apt building he could have run down the stairs and reached the pool in 10-20s seconds (as a very fit young athlete), whereas by jumping two stories on concrete he risks being completely immobilized by a broken bone and might not be able to save the boy...

This would have probably been the best plan(assuming the stairway access was close and he knew where it was). But in the heat of the moment and it was an instinctual/reflexive move, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Wow, I hope this "feel good" story about a college football player isn't a sham.

From what I hear, if they do a blood toxicology test, he may be out for much longer than his ankles would require.

"Sources: Josh Shaw was involved in an incident involving domestic abuse & jumped off a 3rd story window while running from LAPD. #USC"

from a sometimes U$C reporter.

Guess Bloomberg was late to the party. As reports coming out that Shaw may not be entirely telling the truth, Bloomberg just posted on twitter story of Shaw saving drowning nephew story. If this come to light as being a false story...the media is going to have a field day...as will BI.

Sad when an SC guy running from the police seems more realistic than same SC player saving a cousin from drowning. Maybe it was the lack of details, but boy...this is not turning out well for Shaw (a captain too) and SC.

buuuut, it could work out in their favor as next up are two very talented frosh: Seymour and Hawkins.

Sark goes through the motions "Shaw's actions is not representative of the values of U$C...blah blah blah...suspended for 1 game...etc."

Shaw: "I've let my team down, I'm sorry for lying, etc..."

Seymour and Hawkins end up as All-Pac12 guys by end of season. Shaw is then forgotten.

So the Sark era begins with a time honored $C tradition...player misconduct, boobery and a cover up! FIGHT ON!

All previous praise retracted. What a double sleaze move to cover up incident and try to paint himself as a hero...

But isn't $C tradition to stay silent then stonewall for a year before looking into cover up?

Damnn! If true, that's a crazy big jump to concrete. He's lucky he only sprained his ankles.

To his credit, unlike other trojan greats, he did not kill two people.

Sick and tired of the USC/OJ posts when Cal football alums have done far worse.
