I've been following all the BI talk for the last week since I left for Chicago.
I had a great time and have no complaints at all.
The only bad thing is that I lost my digital camera.
Fortunately it was moderately priced as those things go and I can replace it.
The sad thing is that I had some great video content, probably better than network TV.
I was sitting right on the 25 yard line just south of the Cal section in section 131 about half way up.

Anyway I have 2 comments to sum up the Cal team...

1) I agree with everything everyone's said since Saturday afternoon even though it is contradictory.
2) Something about this team goes beyond the analyst in me. So right now all I can say is that I like these guys.
I don't know what that means for the future or the past. I like every one of the coaches, players and the fans and every one of you.
And I'm looking forward to the day when we stop fighting over stupid stuff.

So what did I learn?

I learned to love watching Cal football again, because these guys are fun to watch, don't you think?

I feel like we have a team. Not individuals. But a team.

A bit over 2k? Definitely more than I was expecting out of a beaten down, 1-11 fan base.

Yeah. The point where I felt that were the times in the 2nd half where we stuffed their rushing attempts. Maybe we are a little out-manned up front, but we found a way to get it done.

art and his coaches seem to be putting the swag/fun back into playing defense .. need a good win over sac st to ..keep building on moment and confidence !!

Yes, I have
And that is it.
This is a team, very inspiring.
It rubs off in a deep way, goes beyond the wins and losses.
These people are truly representing.
Because they are winners beyond Saturday.

You look at how many players leave places like Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA when they don't get playing time and you wonder, what is that school really providing from Sunday to Friday?
At Cal folks know the answer to that question.
At Cal the challenge is to grow as people.
These players, this team, dare I say this program, gets it.
You can't be winners on Saturday only, you have to be a winner all the time and then Saturdays just become a natural extension of what already is.
Once the weather turned out, we all could feel it. We all knew, all Cal fans knew, this was gunna be the day for the boys in white.
And they looked good in white too.
And next week they are going to look good in blue and gold.
This team has done it's homework.
I never saw a 300 lb. DT run off the field and look good doing it (I think #91).
I saw it Saturday.
Those players took pride in everything they did.
And all the folks in purple could not say anything bad about Cal.
They were impressed.

And when the fake injuries happened,
Cal just scored a TD every time until they stopped pulling that stuff.

And when the refs tried to hand the game to the homeboys
the defense said,:nono:

I'd say many more there than just 2K.

i suggested last year E T come talk to the team when sonny first came in.. i came across him and you instantly get to looking in mirror really quick ..

but with Buh and the coaches he picked it really did not matter .. recipe 4 disaster plus the injuries change of schemes on both sides of ball
