In that case I say "2". Am I the final price-is-right guesser?

Don't we all hate people like this on price is right, one guy says 1 (me) and after everybody else gives an honest guess he says 1 number higher than you basically eliminating you from the competition. I could of had $500. Oh well, enjoy the money.

I was at the game today and also at Sacramento State. Much better turn-out for Sac State on the east side, and a slightly better turnout today on the west side. Kudos to the student section, which although not full today, got up en masse and moved the the south corner for the final OT and played a huge roll in that goal line stand.

There were a lot less people today than I was thinking - the South Endzone was pretty barren, and CU didn't have very many fans show up. The student section was only 3/4 full most of the time. Disappointing.

But maybe with the exciting brand of football, the nail biting finishes, and the winning record word can get out and translate into more behinds in the seats. The UCLA game will draw a lot more interest next month so that should help attendance as well.

Win one game against Washington USC UCLA Furd or Oregon and we will get people in that stadium

I blame it on the weather! Fair weather fans that is.

Correction - student section 3/4 full in the ONE of their two sections. The second section, one with the band, was about 1/4 filled if you take out the band. Very disappointing.

Listening to KGO on the way home there was a reference made to 35k. That few? That is what I thought I heard...

The official attendance was 39,821. If that included the 2,000 high school band members, then the actual paid attendance was actually less. Very disappointing.

Thanks. I rack it up to a beautiful Bay Area fall day...and a non-traditional/new rival.

Okay, but it is mid-term time for students, it was farking hot, kickoff too early to truly tailgate and/or spend the weekend in a hotel for the out-of-towners, students couldn't get enough drink in them..and guess what? We have played two miserable games if you care about real football that doesn't include penalties, giving up massive yardage through the air, and pulling out your hair at the endless time-outs for introductions and phoney giveaways..Win $10 at Lou's Auto Repair???

All lousy excuses. People and students need to show up and support. Only in the Bay Area do people complain about "hot" weather at football games when it's in the 70s. And midterms...don't get me started.

If students think they have better stuff to do, good for them. I don't and won't blame them not because it's pointless but because this is happening everywhere...places with NCs within the past few years. Yeah at Bama. As a student I went to a few games but just a handful. Frankly I had other things do to, way better than watching FB. Now that I'm old and decrepit, not so much. See how that works?

The unrelenting tyranny of the reading lists ... taking a book to a game and "studying" during timeouts (but only did that twice).
Time management. As Cal football rises to previous or higher levels, the priority of attending games will rise.

Was curious, so I looked back at past years... lowest home attendance since UW in 2003. We were under 40k for 5 of 6 home games that year, including 23 after the U$C victory. Seems like there is a bunch of lag in terms of getting attendance back up after a bad season or seasons. Season tickets really encourage people to come out, single game tickets not so much it seems.

I was pretty surprised at how few CU fans were at the game too. They filled less than halfway up three sections in the endzone (I know you can buy seats elsewhere). Just a pretty dead environment on a whole throughout Berkeley, though it seems the lowering of the field and new press box keep a lot of sound contained.

Buffs fans claim they brought 3k to the game. I think it was closer to 1,500. To their credit, they were pretty vocal for a small group.

With all due respect to B.A. Bearacus....we didn't overestimate attendance...Cal fans just under-attended.

If "farking" is a synonym for "not" then I guess I understand this as a factor in attendance. Otherwise I have a hard time understanding anyone pointing to the weather as a reason for not attending this game. It was perfect.

Huh? 1:00pm kickoff is too early? Seems to me that's ideal for tailgating and just about everything else.
