Props to the CU buffs.... they have some serious talent on that offense. On defense... well, they look a lot like us.

The funny thing is that Colorado was guilty of running into the kicker on the field goal, had Langford missed we would have gotten another opportunity because that was a five yard penalty (and therefore a first down). Of course, since Cal won on the kick, they declined the penalty.

Wins should only be considered "ugly" when you're a ranked team.

We've now equaled the win total of 2012 and triped last year's win total.

Sefo Liufau is also a very athletic QB so even when our DEs beat the blockers Sefo was usually able to get away and at least throw the ball away. He had at least 4 "throw aways", including 2 after a DE hit him. The pass rush does need to get better, right now its too erratic and the only way it seemed to work was to blitz. Sadly, Mac was very good at anticipating the blitzes and several screen passes went for good yardage when we got caught blitzing.

It's nice to see the team figure out how to win one. When Colorado got first and goal at the 2 in the second overtime I was sure they'd score, but Cal stopped 3 runs up the middle and then Sefo was dropped for a loss on the 4th down play. The defense rose to the occasion when it needed to.

The secondary isn't as bad as you think. They often actually have fairly good coverage. They are smaller than we'd like and they don't do well against 6-4 receivers like Austin Hill or Cayleb Jones, but they are rarely just getting beat. More often we see receivers who have glue on their hands making tough catches.

They can definitely improve, but a good example is the last TD to Spruce. Walker had inside coverage and actually did get both hands on the ball, but Spruce ripped it out of his hands to make the catch.

Dozier does need to do a better job staying with receivers. Honestly the more I watch him the more I think he would do better as a safety.
