Rose Bowl is great once you get to the seat. But the fan amenities are pathetic. Worse than Memorial before the rebuild.
It would be interesting to see the Rose Bowl after the $175 million remodel though. Wondering if most went into the luxury boxes or if the bowl fan experience is better. Rose Bowl is a little flat so while there are good seats between the goal lines above a certain row (like all stadiums), there are bad ones in the corners, endzones, and those rows that are too close.
This may be sacrilege, but I've been to Husky Stadium a couple of times since the rebuild, and UW accomplished everything they needed to with that place - sure it's a gigantic erector set that I'd be afraid of in an earthquake, but the majority of seats are between the goal lines and the roof holds the sound in. Those bastards charge $85 for upper deck seats though (which would be like row 100-130 at CMS). They aren't going to be full that often unless a huge game. Word from some UW friends is that Seattle is really becoming enough of a tech hub that the number of younger fans that are interested in college sports is going down. Maybe this will be a trend for a lot of schools in the next 20 years too - also as people cut the cord, I think they become less entrenched in sports. But that's a digression.
