Furd - very bad offense

It's very hard for me to imagine that Shaw, Hogan and co. will be able to score with us.

^ you mean "on us"?
Honestly, our rush defense is pretty good. I think every team we faced, their QB ended up being the leading rusher. We stopped Arizona's streak of like 20 straight games with a 100 yard rusher.
They run the ball don't they? Run run run run run run run, play action TD!!! run run run run run run run run

Based on what we know that sounds reasonable. If we beat WSU and UW then we can argue for 5th. We'd have to beat one of the 4 big players (UCLA, USC, Oregon, Stanford) before anyone could argue better than that.
But after last season, I think 6th is a fine place to be. Next season will be the moment of truth. Can we turn this team into a 9 win juggernaut?
Somehow furd will hang at least 40 on uspappysghost;842370558 said:
I think an upset of Stanford is possible. They don't score a lot of points, and while they have a shut down defense, there is no defense to some of the plays we can make in the passing game. We just might take them by surprise. Of course, our defense will have to play the game of their lives.

One problem they pose for us is Ty Montgomery -- big, physical WRs have given us problems this year, and he certainly did the same in the 2013 BG!

Unless Ty Montgomery gets hurt, arrested, or abducted by aliens Furd has the ability to score plenty against our defense.

smh 9 win juggernaut? This is like saying, I cant wait until next year so that we can finish in second place. i know that next season is far off, but if we can turn in a 6-7 win type season this year. everyone in blue and gold including the fans needs to hold the team to a higher standard than 9 wins. You have the best QB since Rodgers and maybe an all time great in Goff and a good chance that maybe the entire receiving core and most of the offense comes back. Thats our year to take a shot Roses or whatever the equivalent is nowadays

9 win as a minimum every year for the next 10 years or so? That's what I'm thinking. Saying "rose bowl in 2015" would have had tons of negabears coming out to bash on me, and honestly, while I think 2015 will be a down year for several teams due to graduating stars, I'm not willing to predict how 2015 will turn out until we see what defensive recruits we get. I will say that if we get most of the offense back I see no reason we won't win at least 9 games and probably be able to keep that up going forward.

i love how we went from clown coaches and dumpster fire to goff for heisman and 9 wins every year in a span of about 30 days. YES !! ! !! ! !!

Yah, whatever. We haven't had a nine-win regular season since that juggernaut team of 2006. We did have a one-win season last year, a three-year season the year before that, and a 5-win season two years prior to the three-win season. If you add those three seasons together, you get to nine wins.
And anyhow, what'll we do if Dykes "only" delivers nine wins next season? I'll bet you anything it'll look a lot more like a big pile of more money for Sonny than a hot seat. As well it should be. We don't fire 9-win coaches, and neither does any other school in the Pac 12.

not sure where i said to fire sonny if he won 9 games. Im not on the hate sonny, fire sonny bandwagon. im saying look at what we have and what we may have coming back. we'll have the best QB imo hands down in the conference as Mariotta moves on to the NFL with the best receiving core in the conference, with an oline that returns most of its players. defensively right now the only loss i can think of would be lowe off the top of my head. This is a recipe for not just a good season (7-9 wins) but a great season. (10-11 wins and a major bowl). If you cant see the potential of that and would be happy with 9 wins thats fine, but i dont think that 9 wins is the best we can do next year if we can continue to build this year, mainly because of how good i think Goff is and QB is still the one position where if you are great can just carry your team

exactly, thats all im sayin. i honestly wouldnt be calling for sonny's head if he won 7-9 games next year, thats a good season, but i do think that theres potential there for so much more. i wouldnt go dismissing it as crazy for suggesting it or somewhat expecting that it could happen. ive seen enough through the first 4 games alone to know that the potential is there. if anything thats praise to sonny and the staff.
