I agree, it looked like there was a slight change of course of the ball. Anyway, maybe its turn-around for the blocked field goal in the late 1980s Big Game. I kept thinking of that play prior to the WSU kick.

When we scored our last TD and then WSU got the ball, I'm thinking, what, 3 minutes left, too much time, NO WAY we stop them. I had ZERO confidence we would win... then, I reminded myself, hey, Coogs could fumble, they could throw an INT... there's ALWAYS a chance...but, then, of course, they drive right down the field...

... and MISS the freaking field goal!

Seemed like all the players and fans everywhere were, at first, too stunned to be elated. Bottom line, I know what happened, I think, in less I'm dreaming, but I just can't believe it.

There was that time they took a big lead on us in Memorial and then somehow allowed Joe Ayoob to lead a comeback and beat them. Somewhere in the middle of that was a very ill-advised fake punt attempt that the Bears stuffed to start the comeback.

That was nothing, though, compared to tonight. That was all-time Cougin' It.

The margin for error for the Buffs is too damn narrow in the Pac 12. Going 2-4 and losing on the final drive each week is every bit as brutal as getting curb stomped.

Upcoming games against USC, UCLA, UDub, Arizona, Oregon, and Utah aren't going to be any easier. 2-10 looks likely.

MacIntyre has been milking as much as he can out of our youthful and largely unheralded recruits. After leaving it all out on the field and coming up losers, the big question now is how much more emotion is left in the tank to keep up the facade of respectability.

The coaching staff will be miracle workers to keep up the gritty level of play now that bowl aspirations have pretty much evaporated. Injuries are starting to pile up, without much depth to compensate.

This team so desperately needs a conference win to keep the fans engaged.
