How often do players come back to their original school. Think about it... He is gone and hopefully we can get a JC guy in there to compete.

Pretty horrible numbers. He'll find some D1 team that will take him, maybe.

Pretty horrible thing to say about a former Cal player. Not unexpected coming from you, but horrible nonetheless.

well, we must've set some record asking about Clay and Carter coming back. i'm sure Drew is no different.

At Oregon, that only would have warranted a few extra windsprints. "We smoked it all"

Wasn't an internet then but people said some not too nice things about Ferragamo when he deserted Cal because he was afraid to compete with Bartkowski. Vince fled to Nebraska and did zip. Bartkowski did pretty damn good.
Former Cal players who leave the team are former players who left the team ... that they were here for a while means nothing to me.
Maybe you might want to show some love for Shaq who's a former Cal recruit, huh, maybe.

Poor Kline. Unseasoned OL a year ago for us, and now again this year at JC. I want to see Kline and Goff competing at the next level. I have a lot of respect for how he handled a difficult situation on a 1 win team last year. Very classy guy.

Well, maybe at Nebraska Vince didn't do very much. He did lead the Rams to their first ever Super Bowl berth in 1980, though.
Oh, and while at Cal, Ferragamo threw the pass that beat Stanf*rd in the 1972 Big Game.

Kline strikes me as a truly classy guy and a truly terrible college quarterback.
Fortunately, you can be a classy guy your whole life. You can only be a college QB for a few years. They are not mutually exclusive. But if you have only been blessed to be one or the other, then it is much better to have class. He will be fine. I just hope he gets a degree from a good school.

I'll give you credit, at least you leave people no doubt as to how you think. I bear no ill will toward Shaq. He's a great player who decided he wanted to play somewhere else. I have no reason to slight him and hope he stays healthy and has great games against everyone but us.

Espitia's back on the team according to Dykes. of course, why he was suspended in the first place isn't revealed.
luckily we're not a big time program yet, so nobody asks, "why is Espitia's 1-year suspension suddenly being cut short when Cal experiences big defensive depth issues?" but then again, if we WERE a big-time program a la SEC, then we wouldn't care what people would think anyway.
either way, we could use all the help we can get.

Formally stated as 1 year with conditions which he passed and exceeded expectations. It was not a legal issue and was handled internally by the athletic department
Thats all you are going to get about it

I could see your point if he was a DB. Seems like Cal is doing alright with LB depth, no?
NYCGOBEARS;842379196 said:
Most other fans would be happy for the team and him. Our fans assume a conspiracy.
beeasyed;842379202 said:
you're right. arguably the least worrisome unit on defense, depth-wise. i think what i meant to say is that people will wonder about the timing of his reinstatement right when our defense takes a downturn after a strong 2.5 game start.
btw, espitia was one of the better pass rushers we had. glad someone who was 1st/2nd LB--before he suspended--will be back in the rotation.
lmao i am happy for him. i mean, probably was just some weed, right? they did say it wasn't anything legal related.

also, know when drug tests are if you're going to be a D1/pro fb player
