every time I think of the last 3 games, something else comes to my mind in this wild run

Cal scored 60 points (in regulation) against a Pac12 opponent

Have we ever done that before? How many other Pac12 teams have scored 60 points against a conference opponent?

Well, Wazzu just scored 59 and very nearly 62 on a conference opponent. Not sure if you heard.

Uh... it has happened before quite a bit involving us just in the last few years. I'm guessing you maybe have blacked out the memories of the last two games of last season? I don't blame you. We've usually been on the wrong end of 60+.

9/6/2008: Cal 66 - WSU 03

11/17/2012: Cal 14 - OSU 62

11/9/2013: Cal 28 - USC 62

11/23/2013: Cal 13 - Furd 63

some teams came close, or did drop 60 on us the last couple years. the game is changing. it's more fun to watch. people who complained that football is boring because people just line up and run into each other over and over again...they can't say that anymore. at least not about us, nor a lot of other teams.

A little crazy that we have dropped 60 in 2 of our last 4 trips to The Palouse. I was at the 2008 shellacking of that hapless Wulff-led Coug squad. This last win was just a bit tougher...

Didn't UCLA put 62 on ASU just a couple weeks ago?

I really, really want to drop 70 on the Furd this year after they ran it up against a totally undermanned Cal squad last year...Payback is a bitch!

Considering most of us looked like this by halftime of those games, it's understandable...

There is no such thing as running it up in a rivalry game, I am surprised they only scored 63 on us when they could have cleared 80. Both sides go all out for 60 minutes, no matter what.

True, but didn't they throw a TD pass with like a minute to go against us last year? They could still go all out and run it on
us...maybe the same result last year :-( But if we can I hope we don't slow down against them this year and Dykes can smile
all the way to the handshake..

I went to the game against Univ of Pacific in 1991. Pawlawski, Russell White and Daddy Treggs dropped 86 points on the hapless Tigers that fine day to begin the march to a 10-2 record and most satisfying Citrus Bowl win over Clemson, ending up rated in the top 10. Now that right there was some scoring.

A couple of my friends were on cannon duty for the UOP game, after a late night of drinking -- definitely a bad day to have had a hangover!

Uhhhhh....

Our rival scored 60 on us last season.

So did SC.

And Oregon put 55 up...

Sigh

The Oregon schools averaged 60.5 on us in 2012

Nevada and ASU put up 52 and 50 in 2010

Honestly, just with the Furd game last year, this thread is top SMH material.

They could have easily scored 80. Every damn pass was a TD for a while.

Also, they did not run up the score. Their 4th Q TDs were off a 27 yard rush by their 3rd team back on his only carry of the game (remember when Cal would try to not run up the score and our run would score from outside the redzone?)

The second score was 6 runs, two passes... one of those passes Cal gave up 42 yards... thats on Cal.

They also only scored once in the 3rd. To say they "ran it up" when they scored 42 in the first half is asinine.

No. On that drive (that started with 9 minutes to go) the second play was a long gain on a pass, and followed by 5 rushes and a 4 yard pass. Then on 3rd down they threw it and Cal gave up a score. With 5 minutes to go.

The one third quarter score was a 58 yard run.

The other 4thQ score was their 3rd string Running back on a long run on his only carry of the game...

I think the 42 first half points were the issue... not that Cal managed to give up 3 more TD's in the second half to 3rd stringers and 58 yard TD rushes.

That anyone would blame Furd for running up the score when they backed off so dramatically after the first half is ... sad.
