As far as I'm concerned, Cal should look into joining another conference in football.

The PAC 12 is a corrupt mess. I think Larry Scott sucks. All he has done is hasten the move to make college sports as money-driven and soulless as the NFL. I don't see him as giving 2 sh**s about any but about 4 teams.

We should drop out of the bowl coalition and try to renew our alliance with the Big 10. Take back the Rose Bowl and to hell with the rest of the country. The NCAA is so mercenary that they should be ashamed to pretend that they stand for any academics at all.

North Carolina. Penn State. The fact that neither received the death-penalty in the affected sports tells you all you need to know about the NCAA.

The fact that there has been NOTHING from the NCAA in the most excessive egregious scandal (save Penn State) in their existence destroys any credibility they had. This is the very definition of lack of institutional control. The institution instituted directly the academic impropriety. And there isn't so much as a condemnation, let alone a suspension of play against darling North Carolina basketball. For someone like myself that wants to believe in fairness and right, it makes me sick.

Three TDs called on the field.
Not one of the three have conclusive video evidence and yet they are reversed.
This can not be ignored.

We'd be going into OT right now if those three TDs hadn't been called back

Almost agreed with you ... but we need the effing $$$$ to pay off the stadium.
We've come a long way downhill since the PCC days.

You make a excellent point. I have come to hate the stadium due to the limits in which it places us. Athletics of all sorts turn me off more by the day.

It is increasingly disturbing for me to choose to support a system which is so clearly exploitative with regards to its labor force (the athletes themselves).

Pretty sure only 1 of those TDs would have counted. Not quite sure we can score 3 TDs in a single drive...

I hear you. I was practically screaming at the TV the other day while they were extolling the virtues of NC's hoop team on ESPN (another abomination). As far as I'm concerned, the school administrators should be criminally prosecuted.

Yep ... remember the old days when the conference shrunk because the cheaters were thrown out ...
We're just a cog in a very corrupt system ... hate to support the system but have to support the players.

The coaches are just as frustrated.
Sonny's head was spinning and he finally had to just smile at all the third quarter sh*t from the refs.
And he'll get fined if he says a word about it.

I dumped any interest in pro sports a long time ago.
Just about time to dump college as well.
Hope the players all take maximum advantage of their classes and scholarships and just play for fun.
Cal doesn't have the lack of ethics needed to win, and lacks the funds to compete with the cheaters, which we wouldn't do anyway.

Refs did us no favors, but even without that factor we still get beat like a drum. Out coached, out talented, and out played in all facets.

I disagree:

Stan Cal
First Downs 29 23
Total Yards 418 410
Turnovers 1 5

The game was pretty close save for the turnovers. the series in the second quarter that went Lasco fumble going in the endzone followed by two tipped balls for ints on drives where we were moving the ball really changed the dynamic. If we are able to hold onto the ball, and the crazy overturns on 3 TDs don't occur (the first one was reasonable but the next two were BS), I think we would have been in this game.

The conspiracy theory is ridiculous. Every team in the Pac has won the conference title in recent memory save two. It's not like it's the same four teams always winning. It's just the same two teams never having success.

Go ref some football and you'll probably lose all interest in watching football on TV. I used to watch games all the time, but since I started officiating the game, I can't stand watching games on TV anymore. One, don't have time. Two, it's really boring just sitting there and watching. Three, once you've been in the middle of all the action, it's hard to step back and just watch. Four, you get more than enough of football on the field that the last thing you want to do is watch more football.

My SO is in the entertainment industry (film). Since I have been with her I think I can count the number of movies we have seen at the theater with her on one hand. Who wants to bring their work home with them?
